Tying assist cord for jigging - Latch Needle

Method 2 - Latch Needle: My first video for tying assist cord for jigs using two hooks.
This method is good when you want to run a double hook rig for extra 'sticking'. The advantages for this technique is a very minimal setup with no tags sticking out, and the ability to change hooks very quickly. Hooks can be reused, or the assist cord rig can be reused. There are also no knots on the hooks that saltwater can get into causing corrosion.
When choosing an assist cord for this technique, you will need to choose a hollow assist cord (some hollow assist comes without cores), and one with a relatively loose "weave".
Although the technique may look weak, with this specific cord (YGK), the strength is quite high (I've tested it to 30kg) due to the locking action. A drop of liquid (not gel) superglue at the top of the cord as shown in the video will prevent the assist cord from working loose when not under pressure.
It's probably a good idea to (safely!) test out your assist cord made using this method the first time you do this, or if you use a different assist cord than i've used.

Bought the latch needle set waiting for hollow core cord. I couldnt find it in YGK. Can I ask what pound test the YGK was & if this cord type has a specific name? Thank you, a great addition to knotted & whipped assist cord methods.
