Measuring a buck converter's loop gain and phase using a PicoScope

Roland van Roy, Senior FAE Manager, Richtek, shows how to measure loop gain and phase in a buck converter using a PicoScope 5000 Series PC oscilloscope. The gain and phase of the feedback loop need to be well controlled to optimize speed and ensure stability of the converter. Roland also explains how to make the signal injection transformer needed for the measurement.
