I got mine second hand as well. I got a the original box, oil, extra brake pads, etc. I got it for 240$ Canadian, about 165$ plus shipping USD. I also have a curado 51e, a Scorpion 1500XT. Hoping to get a few more from this line up! Love these videos

You have good taste. That entire suite of reels just cast "right". The 6 pin VBS system just worked and could be pushed to the limit while maintaining predictability.
hey i know all the reels featured in your channel are BFS-rated. however i cant help myself to notice the calcutta 101 box in this video. i believe that would be the 2012 silver JDM calcutta. Since currently im looking for a round bc without breaking my bank, perhaps you can share you thoughts on that calcutta 101. thanks!
The Rcs knobs fit Avail handles which I use on those reels. Those ray's knobs are on ray's handles, I have never tried a ray's knob on any other handle, tho from what I'm reading, it should be able to fit on any shimano or daiwa handle, with a small ring required for the shimano handle.

Ah those are cosmetically similar but internally different. I had my eyes on a 2015 limited while hunting for the 09 Mg7. I think the limited was on my watch list for almost 8mths and kept being relisted til someone bought it late last year. The main reason I didnt pulled the trigger in the limited at that time is because I didn't know anyone who made a drag clicker mod for it, whereas I had a few 09 mg clicker mods already on hand. I'm kind of a sucker for clicking drags on bc reels. I have since found someone who makes one for both the 2012 and 2015 alde's, but too late now I suppose hahaha

Oh i'm most definitely a shimano guy, it's a neverending affair hahaha. The 09 mg7 uses shimano's old svs 6 point centrifugal brakes. It comes stock with a regular deep'ish spool and you need to buy an aftermarket shallow spool for it. It is one of the most popular modded reels tho so almost every major aftermarket part manufacturer has a shallow spool option for it. I did show it before and after the bling bling, check out 11:53 onwards!
Hey! If the smallest plastics u are using are 5cm plus the 4g head you may be able to get away with throwing them on the scorpion dc with something like 8lbs fluoro or lighter 10-15lbs braid. Perhaps filling the spool only about 3/4 of the way will help too. I'd still recommend going with a dedicated bfs reel tho cos that would be pretty much the absolute limit of the scorpion dc.
Yes most abu and shimano bfs reels will have no problems casting all the way up to 15-20g rigs, with the exception of maybe some daiwa air's, those have exceptionally fragile spools from what I hear. Also important to note that bfs reels usually come with very shallow spools so you'd need to use 6-8lbs mono/fc or 8-12lbs braid to get a reasonable amount of line on them.

Hahaha i totally get the dilemma. If u have the budget for either the alde or conquest then don't bother with the scorpion, the spool on the scorpion is a little heavier so naturally it won't be able to cast as low as the alde or conquest. Between the 2 it would really come down to shape and weight preference. The conquest is noticeably heavier than the alde and round profile reels sit alot higher than low profile reels. I personally prefer the look of the conquest but am more comfortable with the lower profile of the alde, so if i were to choose I'd say the alde. However, I'd probably go with the conquest if you did more sw luring. Hope this helps!

How did you get those RCS corks on the curado and chronarch. Thaw others corks look like the rays studio, do they fit factory shimano handles?

Hi 😊can I use a scorpion dc for bfs or would I need the bfs version. I mostly use soft 5cm soft plastics on a 4g head👍great channel😊
