Basically the arguments about what they survivved or not is flawed since it assumes a fixed level of durability. Think about Harry Houdini who had an act where he could tank a punch to his abs by preparing himself first by tightening the muscles, and yet when punched in the gut with his muscles in a relaxed state because he was unprepared ruptured his appendix and killed him. When they are on guard and can sense an attack coming they can defend against it using their ki presumably, but if the attack is unforeseen or too hard to predict they might be partially or fully affected. I'm sure there's probably a certain minimum strength level of the attack depending on how powered up they are granting a certain passive defense, but for really powerful attacks they probably need to actively defend. And dealing with a directed energy attack is probably far easier than an all-consuming explosion. Plus the breathing problem in space.
He was low ki in base thats why laser did hurt him We see that also in the frieza saga where Vegeta gets blast a hole by krellin He lowerd his power level there
The explosion of a planet isn't the only energy they get hit with, they would probably tank that the way Broly did with Planet Vegeta it's also the power of the Attack itself that could kill them since the fighter they're facing is equal to or stronger than them.
that was good video but it still shows with the lazer attack with his guard down it dismiss his resist his built up from years of training which doesn't make sense at all as well as punching in dragonball as well. Remembering in the movie with Beerus they were punching so hard it was going to destroy the universe itself but if you apply that to a planetary level we don't really see many if not any on a planet scale punch.
He's not Superman so Goku has to have an energy shield of Ki around him most of the time unless his gaurd is down but Aliens like Freeza and Kal-El have stronger skin and overall body structures!
Well, everything is about ki control and how alien race work, Frieza was able to live long enough when he lost his half of the body, other characters like Yamcha and Vegeta have lost their consciousness after their bone break. Some characters who stronger than Frieza have some trouble to destroy earth because of their ki type: destructive, penetrating and explosive. Vegeta was able to destroy planets with two fingers and after that he use galick gun against Goku that able to destroy planet too, but isn't that obvious witch technique is stronger and witch is better to use? It's like Krillins Destructive Disks and Reverse Kamehameha. Vegeta create Final Flash that supposed to destroy planet by one use, but he managed to use every ki damage on one target. Kid Buu was a uncontrollable creature who can't even think normally and just use his own type of ki and hold back for have a fun.
This made me think about if a character’s attack is powerful enough to destroy a planet, then the character’s body must be powerful enough to withstand the recoil of their attack, thus powerful enough to endure the destruction of a planet. It’s like how Teen Goku would often use his kamehameha to propel himself through the air like a rocket. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If he’s putting just enough power to launch his specific weight to high speed as a rocket, that’s one thing. But as an attack, with that kind of logic, if he puts enough force to blow up a planet, he must also be able to withstand the recoil to that. Especially since Goku never gets pushed back by it, besides when he used Kaioken x4 against Vegeta a bit. You can see the moment the kamehameha gets bigger, Goku lifts a knee to brace the extra power. So everyone really does just thug out the backlash lol. And I more so had in mind not so much the literal recoil to such a powerful attack, but more like the consequence of it. Something like Hiei’s Dragon of the Darkness Flame from Yu Yu Hakusho. An attack so powerful alone, it lacerated his arm. And yeah, kaioken and neo tri beam already are like that, but I think for different reasons. Kaioken is exceeding the body’s current limit and the tri beam pulls on Tien’s life force, making those a bit more technical to the techniques’ unique traits. I more so imagine that just being a general thing for all attacks; if you want the power, better make sure you got the body to take it.
I would say with almost all examples of a dragon ball character dying in some sort of planet destroying event its not the explosion that kills them but the vacuum of space as freeza quite literally survives the explosion of namek with ease and in diologe he pins his victory over goku not as goku dying from the explosion but because quote "I can breath in space and you cant"
The Z fighters that were caught in Buu's planet explosion died from the explosion itself. These warriors are only virtually impervious through the use of ki. When they were unconscious they weren't able to manipulate their ki into a protective format. Like that time Goku got shot by a laser by Freezer's goon. Basic toy gun compared to Goku, but because his guard was down(and his ki not "up"), it actually wounded him.
Yeah no lmao. That gun is way stronger than people are giving it credit for. While weaker than goku it certainly is hundreds of times stronger than an earthly firearm.
I didn't say it was as basic as what Raditz was shot with. Obviously Freezer's men are gonna have much better tech than Earthlings. Nonetheless, it was a tool carried by a goon, that wasn't a nuke. Hence, "Basic toy gun COMPARED to Goku". Now, if I'm still wrong about even that, so be it, but I don't want to be misunderstood by way of people thinking I was actually believing that gun to be as strong as one our our firearms.
indeed. in the tournament of power, jiren endured multiple punches without flinching, but in one instance, vegeta was able to "breach" jirens defenses, in the sub they describe it, as him punching past his ki. this implies, that even jiren cant have cover 100% of his body with 100% of his power. In hunter x hunter, the power system is similiar to dragon ball, but explains it deeper: there is a technique called "gyo", that allows you to redistribute your power around your body, weakening one part to divert more power to another. keeping every part of your body at max, just wastes energy, so you have to anticipate the enemies moves, and focus the power, where it is needed. jiren seems to use a variation of that. He was "invincible" because he anticipated every punch, and focused his energy on each area, to block those punches. essentially its like playing pong, but you can not see the paddle of the other player. in hxh, the dynamic version of gyo is called "ryu". also "destroying" a planet is not a definite term. It can mean anything from vaporizing a planet with power alone, to destabilizing a planets core, so it explodes on its own, to merely causing nuclear winter, and rendering the planet uninhabitable. all have a similiar result, but are several orders of magnitude apart. like, vegeta vaporizing the bug planet with the tip of his finger in the non-canon filler episode makes no sense, if you consider that frieza, with a powerlevel over a thousand times higher, blasting namek with much more effort only initiated a countdown for the planet. It was said, that it requires a power of about 3000 to "destroy" a planet, but even a powerlevel of a million is not enough to vaporize a planet. In the simpsons episode, where flanders house got destroyed twice, the second destruction of his house was caused by someone removing a "load-bearing poster". The amount of force needed to remove this poster is much smaller than the amount of force needed to kill a person. So if someone punches you with an amount of force, greater than the amount of force needed to destroy a piece of paper, but less than is needed to inflict damage to you, you TECHNICALLY tanked an attack, capable of destroying a building. (a very poorly constructed building, but still)
When one is aware how important being on guard is, when re-watching the series one will notice the majority of the attacks only harm characters when they are off guard. (except when there are extreme power differences.)
No they don't, that isn't a thing. This has never been stated in the anime or the manga. Super Saiyan God is what happens when a Saiyan taps into god ki instead of their normal ki, turning their hair red. It's just base form with God Ki instead of regular Ki. Super Saiyan Blue is God Ki combined with super saiyan transformation instead of regular ki and super saiyan transformation. There is no saiyan with god ki in normal black haired base. Goku absorbed some of the power from the ritual but that was just a regular power up like a zenkai but instead of it being caused by near death it was caused by experiencing a level of power beyond what was currently possible that pushed his body to get stronger. That fact often gets misunderstood and makes people think he has God Ki in his normal black haired form, he does not.
Yet base Goku couldnt survive the molten hot core of the earth without a special Suit from Bulma. Beerus and Whis even visits him down there making him look like an amateur.
@@thecoffeemainiak5400 I always bring up how Goku needed normal SSJ against Frost and Piccolo was so much of a threat to Frost that he needed to cheat. I feel like people forget the concept of SSB. Otherwise how could Goku have beaten Frieza who was irrefutably a planet buster? When Cell reaches near peer levels of strength to a Grade 5 Super Saiyan (SSJ2), his kamikaze explosion is definitely enough to destroy a planet sure, but far beyond that as well. Of course it's going to kill a Goku that couldn't fight a Perfect Cell before the zenkai boost he recieves from regenerating from one singular cell.
