At 37:16 I think the biggest problem with most church building today is? They more concerned about them and their family being prosperous then anything else. How many times do you hear people say our brothers and sisters in Christ in most of your church buildings besides me and my family and your family? Most people have that attitude as long as me and my family are doing great we don't have nothing to worry about. I'm not saying that everyone is like that I'm just saying what I have seen over the years. Most churches make it sound like only way for you to find fulfillment is to find a spouse. Nothing wrong with that but you can have a spouse having a family living the American dream and be lost as a jaybird without God!

As always, excellent teaching. The simple truth of Gods word. It never is complicated, until we start to add to it, things that it doesn't convey.
The whole of it all, is that we need to just believe and rely, and just trust God. Just ask Adam and Eve.

I didn’t grow up being taught the OSAS, actually taught that belief was a heresy. I would love to know it’s not. What about the verses that teach a branch will be cut off and thrown into the fire if not bearing fruit? There are so many that talk about not making it to Heaven if you’re lukewarm, not persevering..etc.

I'm assuming you are referring to the passage in John 15. If you look at the context, it's talking about how the only way to have a fruitful Christian life is to abide in (remain close to) Jesus Christ. No where in this passage does it mention anything about heaven, hell, salvation, etc. What it does say though is that it's about having a joy filled Christian life.
John 15:11 - "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."
When something is not useful what do we usually do with it? We cast it aside, throw it away, or burn it. When Jesus talks about being cut off the vine and thrown into the fire it's an illustration of this idea. A Christian that is not producing fruit it essentially useless to God. You as a Christian don't lose your place in heaven but your works will not gain you an additional rewards in heaven. It's the same concept found in Corinthians 3:15 - "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

I'm not completely on board with OSAS either. Often wondered about the lukewarm Christian and backsliders. And what about: Matthew 7:21 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I can appreciate this message but where I get stuck is there are people I hate. I know it’s my flesh but it’s true I don’t like them. So how do I not hear this message and feel condemned because there are people I’m not loving?

@@Warefamily2024 So it's OK to hate what they do and say. Especially if it goes against what God says we should do and say. Through the grace of God we can still love those people. I know that's not easy to do (and I'm not saying I have it figured out) since what people do and say kind of defines them as a person. The thing to remember is that God made everyone in his image. So the next time someone offends you, remind yourself that they are loved of God and that what you hate is their actions. Then take the time to say a prayer for them that God would get them to see the truth and work in their lives.

there are virtually ZERO churches presenting the one true Gospel of grace. and ZERO that accept correction either. look around and see if this isn’t the case. if anyone knows of a church in SW Michigan that isn’t Calvinistic-lordship salvation or isn’t Arminian or Pentecostal with wild rock music or Hillsong stuff or isn’t one of the far left dead churches with female pastors and the rainbow agenda…well, let me know.
