Dear captain laird I know you won’t ever see this. But we will miss you a ton, and thank you for what you did. You didn’t deserve what you went through and I know your wife and family and friends will miss you dearly. It’s really heartbreaking knowing what what happened and what you went through. Condolences to the family, friends, and departments. Thank you for what you did sir. Rest In Peace
RIP Cap. You are likewise loved very much. Thank you and your family for your service and unfortunately your sacrifice. My heart hurts for your crew in Frederick County.
It is very sad when we loose a brother firefighter, especially during a Line of Duty Death. I pray for his family, his station mates and friends. Rest well, my Brother!
Absolutely. Being a dispatcher I’ve learned that sometimes putting my best and bravest out there also means putting the ones least likely to ask for help out there, too. CALL THE MAYDAY - *BEFORE* IT’S TOO LATE. That’s what the mayday is there for. Please. Watch out for each other no matter which end of the battle you’re on, too. Know when to say when - and know your partners like the back of your hand. So fucking sad hearing this. A crew was left without their Captain. God be with them. Much love from us here in El Paso, TX to anyone risking their lives and their sanity in exchange for their public service.
God speed Capt. This is a tough listen but I will refrain judgement until the official traffic is released. May god watch over his family and brothers 🙏🏼

They release these so in case people want to know what happened, they can listen to it and know what happened. A lot of these are released to the public via Public information Office.
He shouldn't have been in there by himself. It was a terrible tragedy, but it could've been avoided. After reading the investigation, following this incident, it was discovered that he was on the interior, by himself. That is always a recipe for disaster.
The audio comes from Broadcastify. The feed is provided by a third party using a scanner. As such, the priority the third party has given the channels determines what channel is heard when there are multiple channels open at the same time.

He was the chief fire fighter. Very brave man. This was in my area. Love and prayers to the family ❤️

One lesson to learn here: never hesitate to call the mayday, it can always be canceled. Err on the side of getting help coming.

Your time stamp is a little off, that’s all. I hear it too @22:35
I know it’s a scanner, so it’s jumping channels…..but it seems like nobody heard him or acknowledged what he said
yep-for most incidents, it's hard to hear what's going on if there's a lot of heavy smoke
The captain’s emergency starts around 14:15. RIP brother.

Sadly not. Also not fake, your ignorance.
Nope, actual radio traffic from the incident. This happened in my county and ik a few people who were on scene that day.
None of this is fake.
