Really sad to see. As someone who was a teenager in the 2010's I remember Broner's initial rise to the top and it was eally exciting. Sad to see his career in the state it's in, especially considering all of his mental troubles.

That’s what happens when a person starts thinking they are bigger than boxing. He started chasing money and only money. He has all the physical attributes, but he’s a head case. He doesn’t have 5 losses, he has 5 times that he beat himself chasing that wrong stuff.

I remember being tired and deciding to go to sleep instead of watching Broner vs Maidana, because I was so sure that Broner was going to win. Then a few days later, I checked his Wikipedia page and saw 27-1- and it blew my mind.

@zeke0987 early on we saw the flaws . Even if he stayed focused he wouldn't rise to Floyd's level like alot expected.

@@DonutsForever24 Yeah in reality, he was never as talented as people say. But if he made smarter decisions (like being disciplined enough to stay at 135 or 130), he could’ve had a much better career. People like Crawford would have eventually gotten to him though.

Maybe but i also see some justice. AB wanted to be Floyd so bad but love or hate him Floyd had that talent in abundance and was such a hard worker. As an understudy he had the perfect blueprint. Broner only has himself to blame

Alot of people said the first round was boring, i thought the first round is a place to learn about ur oponent rather then just straight slug it out, this match couldve been more chess if broner learned to adjust himself instead of sticking to the same plan. I dont understand what he was doing cause he couldve won on points if he shoulder rolled the punches, i feel pranked on thinking he actually matured and Improved after the maidana fight

    Sad ending for AB...
Too much ring rust but props to him for getting in shape.
He kept fighting after that knockdown (same round and same punch that Maidana caught him with in 2013, that’s really a full circle)
His elbow was cracked and his shoulder was torn and still he came back in the end a bit but Cobbs wanted it more, you could tell from the beginning
Cool vid tho, keep it 💯

I called it! & was right & be right 80% of the time!
AB was never elite! Blair Cobbs was around his level! But Blair was a little more better!
Cobbs was & is not a Scrub he’s at that borderline of top 10!
Dude was a 🤡 goof ball who the worst part of the urban community looked up to that lived in the hood!
His loud mouth & clown activities got him so popular!
Soon as he fought an elite or Soild fighter he lost!
    Broner is best to fight
Uber drivers & like his last opponent a lawyer anyone who’s a real boxer rank top 20s is out of his league!
It’s not as weak & soft when he was coming up
Only good win I give him is Pauline only issue paul had no power 😂

I kinda figured Cobbs was gonna do his thing, not to talented but absoluitely determined and Broner, as usual doesn't throw enough..and what makes it worse is his inactivity..Using Cobb was a stepping stone to kickstart his career was a huge mistake..Cobb may not be as talented as guys like a Jaron ennis but he always comes in shape and inacts a gameplan and sticks with it...and is always focused

the main reason why Broner lost is because he wasn't active enough. he landed a great jab several times in rounds 1-5, but most of the time it was just one. Cobbs won the match with a simple jab to the body every 5 seconds. a knockdown isn't always the end of a match, but it was way too easy for Cobbs because he wasn't active.

Even at his best Broner had very good defence but limited counter ability and low output. He never had one pounch ko power so a more traditional style would have probably suit him better than the philly shell expecially once his lack of discipline forced him out of his optimal weight class

Broner doesn’t have to retire. He’s Been super inactive and Cobbs was a tough debut. But if he works hard and sticks with Calvin there’s still fights to be made. He only has 5 losses.
Timing and reflexes were off last night but that can be trained. There’s still some road left for AB.
