WOW!
Guys .. you are so lucky to see kilimanjaro in clear in the wet season when the grass is very green. i have visited here more than 10 times , it very rare to see the mountain that clear .
Thank you so much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much! Oh we were more than lucky with the Kilimanjaro, couldn't have asked for more! Best regards, Markus
Amazing video and editing! Thanks for the reminder of the names of all the animals I have seen last November, in Amboseli, Tsavo east & west. These are precious memories. God bless you.
Dear Denise, thank you very much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much! So glad to hear that you have such good memories to Amboseli and Kenya. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
I was at Amboseli last November as well. Spent three days there and when the clouds cleared, the magic of Amboseli really took off! When I tell people I was surrounded by more than 100 elephants, they are in awe and can't believe such a place exists.
Hello Jay, thank you very much for your kind commet, appreciate it very much. For sure we love to come back. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus

Dear Karin, thank you very much for your wonderful comment, so glad you like the video! Wishing you all the best for your second trip and take care! Best regards, Markus
Wow! Such a great video! Love all of your videos! Thanks for being an inspiration to visit these beautiful places and watch the animals in their natural habitats! And, the great variety of birds that you show makes your videos stand out! Keep up the amazing work! Once again, watching this video in nostalgia of our first African safari trip to Amboseli, Nakuru and Masai Mara last month. Very lucky that you've seen the cheetahs and lions at Amboseli! We stayed for two nights at Amboseli. We had some amazing sightings of elephant herds and a great variety of birds. Maybe next time, we'll plan for longer stays to increase the odds of sighting some of these other animals. Thanks again, for all of these awesome videos! Thanks for being an inspiration! Take care and best wishes!
Dear Ram, I am very happy to hear that you have such wonderful memories to your first safari trip. The first one will always be the one that makes the deepest impression in your memory. Also you have discovered one of the main secrets of African safaris. It's not only about the the "big five" or just cats. It is to look out for all the different animals, big and small, and especially for birds. Then you will always be successful on your game drives. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
Just love the way you write! We always wanted to pay attention to the smaller animals while going on our first safari. And your videos played a part in us developing the appreciation for birds! Thanks for showing and helping so many people appreciate the gifts of mother nature! Stay blessed! Best wishes! Keep up your wonderful work! All the best!
Dear Anthony, thank you very much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much. So glad you like the hippos, that was heartbreaking to watch. Luckily the baby survived. Best regards, Markus

Thank you very much for your kind comment, appreciate it very much! We stayed four nights at Tortilis camp. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
We went there in December over Christmas and that was the only time we have been there. So unfortunately I cannot tell you how it will look like at any other time of the year. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
Dear Pao, thank you very much for your comment. No, we do not do self-drive safaris. This was with the guide and vehicle of the Tortilis camp. Only that camp has access to the private concession with off-road driving where we saw the cheetahs. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
Dear Chris, thank you very much for your comment. You find the trip details in the video description and all animals are identified in the video subtitle. All the best and best regards, Markus
@@SandraMarkusTrachsel Thank you. I find these safari videos to be much more informative and compelling if there is actually a narrator. Excellent video and great editing too. For days, you caught a lot: where you just lucky or you planned well i.e. ( which period of the year to come, where to go , what time ). Also you had some serious photo gear: would an 18-55 mm be enough?
Dear James, thank you very much for your wonderful comment, appreciate it very much! So glad you like the video. We did the usual basic trip planning like the expected wildlife, possible migratory birds and weather and climate of course. Then it was all up to our guide and a lot of communication with other guides. The search for the cheetahs for example was a joint effort of 3 cars searching a particular area where the guides assumed they were there. That's a benefit if you go with a camp that has multiple cars in the area, the guides can communicate with each other via radio. The fighting hippos on the other hand was pure luck of course, nothing you can do to force these kind of sightings. Otherwise we just filmed a lot, that gave us plenty of material to edit afterwards. You can find all our gear explained in great details here: ruclips.net/video/OFeReg5DJgkN/видео.htmlote that over 50% of all footage was captured with a 600mm Lens (full frame equivalent), another 30% with a 300mm lens (ff-equiv.) and only 20% below 300mm. Therefore your suggested 18-55 might not bring you close enough to the animals, also because Amboseli park does not allow off-road driving. So you have to film everything from the road and that can be a long way away from the animals. The only place we were allowed to go off-road was a private concession around the lake (e.g. where the cheetahs were). With best regards, Markus
@@SandraMarkusTrachsel Thanks much for the explanations, I am planning to visit Amboseli next year, so I'll start my research now. But you are both above average photographers, because with a 600ff the stability of the pics/videos was awesome.
