Our car yard was selling many used cars and we found the Chrysler Sebring to be safe reliable cars. Used to own it for over 2 years. Strange car really. Like someone wanted to create very luxurious car on the tight budget. It was comfy and attempted to look top class but plastic and wood imitation inside and outside gave it away.... I did some long miles in this car. Always had problems with it. Constant electrical issue with immobilizer that would prevent starting up. Cruise control NEVER worked. Most annoying now. Illlumination for clocks speedometer etc did work either. You drive in the night without any knowledge of your speed revs and petrol. Crap.
Good bits... Spacious. Comfy. Sound of door when shuttling best I ever heard in my cars.
I was happy to see it go after 2 years. Changed to SAAB and I wouldn't take it for free.
So far, I can agree. I am having similar electrical issues. Have a 2008 sebring convertible. I put LEDs on my dash that I can click on at night to solve the unknown speed problem at night. My cruise control is working though. Although I have recently had issues with cooling problems with the car with the temperature housing unit busting a bad leak and needing replaced, but being that it's over 10 years old at this point, it's kinda typical to have some parts that need replaced. FYI - there was a recall for these cars for electrical wiring issues. In the recall it was stated some wires were left exposed and that over time it causes corrosion which can cause the computer system to throw a bunch of errors and all the other lovely problems that come with electrical issues. If the car was taken in for recall they would have put covers around all the wires to protect from corrosion(🤔). I believe the car I have, has had this recall work done, and recently I had a burning smell coming from the engine. Found out the smell a few days ago was that the engine cover was getting so hot it was burning the electrical tape around the right-front corner electrical wires that connect to the fuel injectors. 😮....so I popped the front part of the engine cover up so it wasn't touching the tape and it seems to be good now with no burning smell, but just an FYI to those who may pick up this car in the future. They are indeed "strange". But they seem to be pretty durable IMO.
its old, BUT pretty sure i saw a small dent behind the broken side marker? right at edge of fender?
