This is exactly what I needed. My first Christmas married and away from my folks, and first Christmas with a baby on the way. Hearing from my favorite band helps me feel the way they always have🙂
The only thing I am a little miffed is her reluctance to invoke the name of our savior.

Exactly, it's ridiculous, and they've done it with every other carol on this album. Why make a Christmas album like this if you can't mention Christ or Jesus.

I completely don't understand this strange aversion to saying the word "Christ" in all your songs. You are singing about Christ anyway, it's not like there was any other "newborn king", "everlasting Lord" who "laid his glory by" and was "born in Bethlehem" and through whom "God and sinners are reconciled" and about whom the angels were saying "glory to God and peace on earth", LOL
Seeing that you have kept all these theological details, why is the word "Christ" problematic?

She already admitted that "He" is the everlasting Lord, a newborn king, who laid his glory by and was born in Bethlehem to reconcile sinners to God and that his birth was accompanied by angels saying "glory to God in the highest and peace on earth". It's not like it could have been anyone else that this carol is about, lol. If singing all that theology (especially that He is "Lord") was not a problem, then why is saying the word "Christ" a problem??

The lyric change, which I don’t see a precedent for, is most likely because Candace Night is Jewish. I don’t really believe in this stuff, but I don’t see why anyone would pretend that it isn’t about Christ.
What the heck is up with removing "Christ" and "Jesus" from the lyrics? NOT impressed. Beautiful music, but it just leaves a foul aftertaste.
Hey guys you got lyrics wrong. Its not HE, its CHRIST...You can fake and twist and avoid true lyrics as much as you want but you can not change the Truth. Christmass is celebration of birth of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour, King of all kings!
I know it’s sad because it’s such a great version of this musically. But denying the Lord Jesus Christ in a song that was written to glorify Him, is frustrating for me as a Christian.
