      Aww thanks man! As long as you're having fun, that's all that counts :) tbh I think people will always like watching traditional arts, people will always like doing traditional arts, and there will always be some demand for it. If you're caught up with it as a job, then you may have to adapt but it's not a bad transition if you're already adept as an artist. It's just another tool under the belt. Keep it up, man!

    I have worked with American modelling clay just a bit, and it amazes me how you created the surface imperfections. That closeup of the skull after first paint was so full of detail, that's even before the highlights and shadows you added after. Mad, appreciate the effort behind making this and the video. Solid work dude.

      @@SculptureGeek yeah. I've always found clay sculpting intriguing and I've considered purchasing some Monster Clay to try it out for molding later. Only thing that makes me hesitate is I don't have the space or equipment for resin casting at the moment. But you're sculptures are very inspiring. :)

    • @SculptureGeek
      @SculptureGeek  4 года назад +1

      @@dfcprops3849 I wouldn't let that stop you- but I would go for Chavant nsp hard grade clay. That's my favorite material. It can withstand sitting on a shelf and you can even dust it off without too much fear of messing things up. A can of compressed air works well- but really, you don't even need to save it since you can melt it down and re use it to sculpt something else. Take a pic, and move on. I don't mold things very often and just have some sculpts sitting on a shelf that are years old. One day I'll get around to it but it's nice to know there's no rush :) Oh- I should also mention that I didn't use any equipment for molding and casting this piece- I have equipment but it was just faster to do it this way.

    • @dfcprops3849
      @dfcprops3849 4 года назад

      @@SculptureGeek I'll look into Chavant clay, thanks. Really great that you don't have to worry about leaving a sculpt on the shelf and returning to it much later. No rush is up my alley! :)

    i've noticed that you often portion the surface, simultaneously with both hands. does that help? is it hard to do??

      Love Wario! He's on my list for sure. I was just playing Wario Land on my Virtual Boy a few hours ago. I was digging through my closet and I almost forgot I had it. Would love to see Nintendo do a re-release of that somehow. Even a collection of them on Switch would be so sick. Agreed though- all the Wario Land games are great so, yeah will do at some point :)
