Yupp..walked out them gym doors many a winter night with a wet head after practice to hitch home down Waterville rd. STJ Bulldogs forever. 45th anniversary reunion this year, Class of '79.
Lived at 22nd & Madison til late 60's. Lee's was Don's into the 70's. Moved to Boothwyn. Same Don's in "Mare of Easttown" 22:38 - Used to be LaSpada's, best hoagies. Best Steaks across the street at Phil & Jim's. Best Pizza - Kent's, a block east on Chelton before he moved down 9th st. (R.I.P. Kent) That's the way I remember it in '81 when I left. 22:50 - I watched the owner of this local establishment get expelled from S.V. one hour before graduation for smokin' the tires off his AMX. We all ended up at summer school one way or the other. It was the last of the 70's. Summer '79. Tales of Delco past.
Great comment! Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Phil and Jims are still there on Edgemont and still the best in the area in my opinion. La Spadas moved to McDade and another spot in Garnet Valley and is my favorite spot if Im in Ridley. The spot you marked as La Spadas is now a Spanish food place. Pretty good but overpriced. Either way I appreciate the comment. Feel free to leave some more memories on any other videos you watch!
@@goodjawn610 Yup.. first stop when back in Delco is Phil and Jims. Hung out with the most "colorful" characters from different neighborhoods of south/mid. Delco. I've got stories, all based on true events from daze of old. Can't put 'em in text form as the statutes of limitations aren't up on some of 'em. - haa.
@@battlefrontvader9604 but stay in tuned, I'll be in Wildwood AC and all the other southern NJ spots all thru out the summer so it should be good times
13:11, on left. Bruce Springstein played there in 1973. Wasn't a student but crashed a few frat parties there in the early mid 70's.
