  • I have been building a pipe organ in my house since 2014, and I would like to document the project for your viewing pleasure. Before I can post videos about what I am working on now, I need to give context. That’s what this video series is about; it is an overview of the project’s history. This video is part three of the series, and it covers progress on the organ in 2021 and 2022 (up to the date this video was published). Be sure to check out the other two parts if you haven’t already.

    Quite the undertaking. It all seems very daunting, very time-consuming. But they look beautiful nonetheless. Continued success.

    I have a unique appreciation for your undertaking. Having added a two story addition to my home to house a 26 rank hybrid with substantial digital additions, I was forced to relocate and give it all up with the project about 90% complete; many regrets. There is no way to appreciate the scope of your project unless you have actually gone thorough the labor intensive, costly and time consuming process. I wish you all the best and look forward to following your progress.

    So many questions but...is there a wife to contend with here?..😆 Truly, a project like this would be amazing to pursue. However, I'm pretty sure trying to accommodate it in my domestic home bonus room would lead to more frustration than i am willing to put up with. I commend your ingenuity and perseverance!!

    Thank you for sharing your project on RUclips, it’s the RUclips recommendation took me here and I have watched all 3 videos of your project. It’s lovely to see your passion and continue investment in buying more organ parts, and your voice sounds like a young fellow so I guess much exciting energy will be pour into the future of your organ and we will get to see that! Awesome! Thanks again.

    I would like to see the specification as the organ is now. I realize that things may change in the future. This has been fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing.

    These videos are amazing. If I only had a better understanding of electrical wiring. I would be building my own pipe organ. I have 17 ranks from Kilgen and Kimball organs that ill someday be able to put to use. Please keep these videos coming.

    6:35 Interesting you also have a Möller Artiste. I assisted an organ builder disassemble / reinstall one of these while a Church did room remodeling. It was a two cabinet model Artiste. The Church did not keep it after we reinstalled it.

    Wonderful! Could you have placed your organ in a nearby high school auditorium? How easily is the cotton-insulated wire ignited?

    It seems like the valves are the most expensive part.

    HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU HAVE??? “I then purchased another organ”

    • @MechanicalMusicHobbyist
      @MechanicalMusicHobbyist  Год назад

      Well, currently there are many instruments being sold for very little because of changes in demand. For me, the most expensive part has been the control system. Right now I'm on a rather tight budget: I just contribute to the project when I can.
