May 17 Officially Named 'Shohei Ohtani Day'

- Los Angeles Dodger Shohei Ohtani was honored at Los Angeles City Hall this morning by City Council and presented with a resolution declaring May 17 “Shohei Ohtani Day” in the city of Los Angeles for the duration of his Dodger career. Members of the Dodgers front office and Dodger manager Dave Roberts were in attendance as the council recognized Ohtani for his athletic achievements and historic impact as an Angeleno of Japanese descent.
The Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, with seven World Series championships and 24 National League pennants since its beginnings in Brooklyn in 1890, is committed to a tradition of pride and excellence. The Dodgers are dedicated to supporting a culture of winning baseball, providing a first-class, fan-friendly experience at Dodger Stadium, and building a strong partnership with the community.
