Headcanon: Sweet Apple Acres was built on sacred grounds this entity was entrusted to protect.
It does not need food to survive (is a magical plant), instead it takes the Love the Apple Family projects into the apples (and apple_related baking & confectioneries) because of the celebration, leaving behind an equally nutritious squash [equivalence exchange].
-> This is why it choose to write a "Thanks" to Applejack in the rock [meme for meme], because there was no calories involved.
Granny Smith is essentially "bribing" it every year to let them stay.

This is bloody ingemious and hilarious. Mister Dogman, I entered your channel because today I was gifted a Yamaha PSR-530 so my 8yo grnadkids can start learning the ropes on keyboard playing. And then I was suprised with this on your channel's homepage. Started it just out of curiousity, but could not dare to stop. This is absolute lovely story telling, and the song in the middle really did it for me. Will show this to my girlies. They are Dutch like I am but I am sure they will enjoy it :-)
