I'm a fan. & This is an example of literally having no high register, but having great vocal training to know how to control and execute the notes. His voice is not the greatest but he does very well with what he has.
I think he doesn’t have the greatest range but I agree his technique is pretty good to get those notes out and good use falsetto. But I also think his tone is pretty good though.

I really think he has a pretty good timbre/voice, probably a bit nazzly. Yeah his range is kindof limited but still it's damn good for a baritone singing with mix/head. Absolutely underrated!!

I discovered Mac Ayres thanks to my Spotify algorithm. I've probably listened to all his songs and always hoped to see him live but felt that it was a slim chance since I live in Southeast Asia. Luck was on my side though - he came last year for a small concert as part of his tour. It was my first concert alone since none of my friends were free but it was the most liberating feeling. So glad he's getting the recognition he deserves!

It doesn't matter the color or country of the musician, Stevie ( and by extension fellow Motown legend Marvin Gaye) are the foundation for a musician's technical holy grail, and it tickles me to see our young artists mastery of the master. Just when I am lamenting the state of modern music today, these young folks pop up in my suggestion feed to let me know things are going to alright ☀️
