Introverts in a fundie environment sometimes are forced to be "introvert/extroverts" because there are so many mandatory church activities that demand a certain level of social interaction. This can result in an introverted person getting burnt out and just living a lifestyle that's very stressful for them.
My cousin got her daughter an all white bounce house for Christmas and I almost died laughing. She’s like one of those aesthetic pottery barn obsessors. Drives me crazy. She’s not even 3 yet. Let her have wacky colored toys and things damn it! 😂
As a parent who wants their kid to have wacky colored things, the Instagram neutrals kill me. It was so hard to find my son something that wasn't, black, white, beige, or blue. For girls it was the same options, only pink too. God forbid as a parent you want fun and different colors. The gendered designs were disheartening too as a woman who loves dinosaurs and space, I felt for moms of girls who need to click on the "boy" prints.
It kills me sometimes just how much some people are super controlling over their aesthetic. Parenting is probably a huge anxiety attack for them to say the least.
It's like an evolutionary necessity as well. Not to mention how beneficial it is for kids to be exposed to colors as their brain develops? It's so weird. Haha.
The way she seems worn down just reminds me of back in the day when women really had no choice, no knowledge of how to prevent or end pregnancies… how hard that is on your body to carry pregnancies close together, while also caring for several young kids. Ugh. I have one 2 year old and I’m almost broken.
I've never seen such a large group of people devoid of personality. The contrast between them and you/James is just *chefs kiss* lol - HAPPY HOLIDAYS YOU TWO
I just watched an European documentary called The Mission (2022) about American mormons going to Finland on their mission and I thought of you. That movie makes it very obvious that those kids do not have the necessary skills and help to make it on their mission. They don't have the language skills required and most of all they don't have healthcare they need. I have a link to that movie (and sooo much to say), but I don't think YT lets me post links.
Joy saying the nice things about her mom makes me sad. I have a friend who went through similar family abuse that her mom knew about and did nothing to protect her from. But she's similar in her stated admiration for her mom. It breaks my heart to think how desperate they must be to cling to someone so unworthy of the title that is mom.
I love the fact that you’re trying to blur the kids faces! With all the things I’ve been reading, listening to & watching lately.. I’m relieved more & more people are starting to realize and change things that are part of the problem! 💖
There is nothing wrong with James assuming Duggars are pregnant unless stated otherwise. It's the law of averages. Also, it drives me nuts that Joy took Gideon to a speech language pathologist ONCE and now he's nearly five and still wholly unintelligible and she doesn't think to take him back. Makes ME CRAZY. Her most recent video she's driving an excavator with both of them bopping around in the cab playing with the controls while they all nearly go off the dirt road. Joy annoys me to no end.
Omg he’s almost five? Hearing him talk, especially with it blurred, I assumed he was like 2 and half or 3. Sounds like a kid at that age where they’re just beginning to really pick up language and say so much more but haven’t nailed the pronunciations and inflection. Not a kindergarten aged kid. Edit. Then I got to the part with the younger one who IS 2 and speaks much more clearly!
Yeah I’m in school to be an SLP and by the time they’re five kids should pretty much have the same speech capabilities as adults, and they should be intelligible most of the time at around three. If her kid is talking a lot and it’s just that it’s not intelligible he probably has an articulation disorder which are some of the easiest to treat!! And the thing that really drives me nuts is that if he went to a regular school they would have an on staff SLP that he’d immediately be referred to, but because they homeschool he’s not going to get the care he needs. ARGHHHH
@@Natalie-mr7ec Unrelated, but I have nothing but mad love and deep respect for all SLPs! you guys are THA BOMB. My mom is in long term care and it's the SLP that help her eat and swallow and figure out ways of just making her life easier. So thank you so much for all you do!!!

Yeah, they really have been trained their whole lives. They've had to take responsibility for one person or another constantly and consistently since they were like three years old. At no point in their lives does the culture allow them to take care of only themselves. Anyone would struggle with patience if they had to live up to those noxious expectations with no end in sight! Btw, don't you mean waffles with _squares_ of butter?
Papaw (not sure how to spell that) would be Austin’s grandfather. It sounds like he told them they would use James as part of their next son’s name. Joy announced her pregnancy really early on. She did a gender reveal party and her sister Jill was there… in the same room as their father (wow!). And there’s a rumor that her brother Josiah and his wife (Lauren) welcomed a second child, too. They don’t do social media. I think there are at least 3 pregnant Duggars now. Probably more. Oh, and Jinger Duggar Vuolo wrote a book and it supposedly talks about how dangerous IBLP is and how she realizes her parents’ version of religion was damaging.

@@anitazimmerman8412 Jen's only 15, so she's too young to be in any relationship even by Duggar standards, and James is someone where no word on if he's even courting yet
Introverts in a fundie environment sometimes are forced to be "introvert/extroverts" because there are so many mandatory church activities that demand a certain level of social interaction. This can result in an introverted person getting burnt out and just living a lifestyle that's very stressful for them.
Yep. Can’t evangelize if you’re too introverted/shy/non-social! 🙄
Jen calling a butter stick a rectangle is exactly what I needed to hear today.
I dislike the greyge color scheme as well, but you know that kid is flopping around the bounce house not giving a single fuck what color it is lol
Haha.
Sad beige bounce house for a sad beige kid 😂
She was talking about morning sickness and ‘this’ pregnancy so I realized she was probably pregnant 😂
The contrast between them and you/James is just *chefs kiss* lol - HAPPY HOLIDAYS YOU TWO
That was something I noticed very early on when I watched the Duggar’s show when it was airing. It’s insane to me.
"This is Johanna, this is Abbie, ::points to garbage can:: this is Josh..."
😆 I love you Jen
my favorite part
I just watched an European documentary called The Mission (2022) about American mormons going to Finland on their mission and I thought of you. That movie makes it very obvious that those kids do not have the necessary skills and help to make it on their mission. They don't have the language skills required and most of all they don't have healthcare they need.
I have a link to that movie (and sooo much to say), but I don't think YT lets me post links.
Something about "Butter off the rectangle" sent me into orbit 💀 You two are hilarious
Give me the butter prism
I want a square off the rectangle!
It's like corn on the cob. It's etched into my memory now. I want the butter off the rectangle, too!
I wouldn't assume pregnancy based on appearances but based on this family's culture specifically it's pretty safe
james' face really shows hes struggling to pay attention to the vlog and the funny dog memes cycling through his head. love it
Joy saying the nice things about her mom makes me sad.
“I assume pregnancy unless told otherwise” 😂😂 I mean, he’s not really wrong when it comes to the duggars!! Lol
Her husband probably didnt want him in speech classes
@@montyollie thank you so much!! Once I’m done with school I want to work in pediatric hospitals :)

@@EE.333 😂💀
Aaaaah took me a minute to get it 😅 Just like Hozier said in an interview "Men will get pegged, wether you like it or not"🤷♀️
When asked if Joy-Anna was nervous about going from 2 to 3 kids (15:09), she says that she's more excited than anything because they've been praying for this... I legit thought she was going to say "they've been training for this all their life".
I really wish she'd said it. Now I'm sad and need waffles with pads of butter.
@@asenseofyarning5614 - square cross sections of a rectangular parallelepiped of butter, please.
"I am so grateful for the way my parents allowed me to be in close contact with my pedoph!le brother..." Um, ok.
I 100% agree that being a fundie parent puts a cap on how good a parent you can be. Fundamentalism is inherently abusive.
Ok also edit to say y'all need to always be together, love the energy of y'all both on camera.
Totally agree. Better together.
And I was so excited to see 2 vids today!!!
"The Duggers are a network..."
My dude, they are their own cinematic universe within the Fundie Cinematic Universe.
y'all are SO funny and i agree w/ Jen that y'all should do this format more!! cackled at 'who has ONE waffle!?' (bc for real! lmao) and "tacos for life" 😂😂😂
I assumed Tacos For Life was a lesbian power group
Jen and James have the energy of the world's best foster parents and we are their lucky and loved foster kiddos.
Jed is creepy and Jason looks like he’s always about to cry. This family is...something.
Absofuckinglutely, Jed! has creepy vile Josh vibes. You just know Katey is regretting not running like Forrest Gump.
Jase, he's part of the lost boy Duglet group.
Jason looks like his friend is more of a "friend" if you catch my drift.
@@lisanewman5378 I hope for Katey and their kids' sakes he's not like Josh to THAT caliber but some of their personality traits aside from the horrific stuff are very similar :/

F my book and F winter woods yule relaxing sounds or whatever!
I need jen & james to narrate all of my family gatherings tbh
That first Duggar, the one who’s expecting her third child, made me incredibly sad.
My brain broke when Trixie and Katya made an appearance. That was amazing.
We have a vegan restaurant called plant b. I'm convinced there's no way they don't know what they did there lol
😂😂😂
For real? 😂
These 2nd generation Duglets are so blind to security for them or their minor children. It’s easy to locate someone with so much information on line these days. It seems that likes and attention on SM supersede any common sense.
Duglets 💀
I remember as a kid when duggars were being born I asked my mom what Jill would do if they ran out of j names

Man, you two are a dream team! Never a dull moment with Jen and James 😆
"What a power move to announce you're transition in a Christmas vlog though!" Haha James! Love you guys, happy new year!
I have mixed feelings about reacting to Joys youtube because of what Josh did to her. It must be tough for Joy to process what happened while still being in a cult that does not value women or girl's safety.
She has probably never had therapy either.
@@PB-dq9gi I know, i would love to see her get therapy, actual therapy. Not some 'pray and read your bible' rubbish.
@@Nobody-dp5xo Unfortunately, they have been brainwashed by the IBLP to believe that therapy is wrong and evil. The TRUTH is, the damage sustained by the damnable teachings of the IBLP usually requires therapy to heal. Good, non-fundamentalist therapy is a real blessing! Sadly, the depth and breadth of the control and brainwashing the Duggar children continue to live under is apparent in that not one of them has left fundamentalism. IMHO.

Same, I literally clapped my hands and squealed like a child on Christmas.
I don't think the pregnancy joke was crass, considering that's the only side the viewers (and those of us whom didn't watch the TV series on TLC saw them). So that's what we assume? I guess? 🤷🏻♀. To be quite frank, ANY parent who does not use a freaking gun cabinet, and leaves their guns out on a freaking coffee table- (correct me if I'm wrong) cannot and _should_ not be considered or called a good parent. Those AK's in the bedroom is startling, um erm... On another note, I recently bought a four waffle cuisinart waffle maker, it's a lifesaver. Oh good lord, that boy in the truck in a few years is gonna be Ned Flanders.

Why does that monster keep onions in a bowl of fruit? I understand keeping an apple in with your onions or potatoes to inhibit sprouting, but this is not that! I love that you rant about the waffles, but I cannot let go of onions in a fruit bowl. I also refuse to believe that Joy Anna never saw her mother get upset, that sounds like Stockholm Syndrome or otherwise image maintenance.
Oh eww, that red 'festive' suit.
OMG. I had no idea about keeping an apple in with your potatoes. I just googled it, and found an article that cited a study in a publication called The American Journal of Potato Research. What?!? I think James is being fair. Like you don't go outside always ASSUMING it will be raining, but if you live in Seattle you might. And you don't ASSUME someone built their own house but if you are in Amish country, you might.
