  • Today I’m taking a closer look at the 2022 Ford Bronco 4-Door Advanced 4x4 Raptor, the latest modern interpretation of an icon. This is my first experience with the Bronco, and I’m excited to explore how this Raptor model performs in everyday driving. While I don't have a chance to take it off-roading and truly put its capabilities to the test, there are plenty of resources on RUclips that you can check out to see it in action.
The Bronco Raptor is designed and engineered by Ford Performance to be the world’s first Ultra4 Racing-inspired SUV. It's built with extreme Built Wild capability and durability, with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivering more than 400 horsepower, a Raptor HOSS 4.0 race-ready suspension system, a fully boxed, high-strength steel frame, and standard 37-inch all-terrain tires. The Bronco Raptor is also 9.8 inches wider than the base Bronco 4-door, giving it a more confident high-speed cornering.
This Raptor model comes with many race-inspired features, both inside and out. The exterior features Velocity Blue paint, a Raptor Graphic, a Keyless Entry Keypad, a Ford Performance Heavy-Duty Modular Front Bumper w/ RIGID fog lamps, Heavy-Duty full vehicle steel bash plates, 17' Blk Frgd Beadlock CPBL WHL with 37-inch all-terrain tires, Signature LED headlamps, and running boards. The interior features Onyx/BlueLTHTrim/SuedeSeats, a Code Orange Seat Belt, an Interior Carbon Fiber Pack, and Leather-Trim/Suede Seats. It also boasts tech features such as a 12-inch LCD center stack touchscreen, 360 cameras, and an 8-inch digital driver screen.
The Bronco Raptor is also equipped with a Terrain Management System with 7- GOAT modes (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain), and Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology, including pre-collision assist with auto emergency braking, hill start assist, blind spot info system with cross traffic alert, and lane keeping system with lane keeping alert, lane keeping aid, and driver alert.
This off-road brute was made for life in the wild, with Live Valve 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers, 37-inch tires, and a commanding presence - making it more than ready to take on the toughest trails at high speed. It's definitely a capable and impressive vehicle, but it also comes with a higher price tag than the base Bronco. Ultimately, it comes down to what you need and want from a vehicle. If you're looking for an off-road beast that can handle anything you throw at it and you're willing to pay a premium for that, the Bronco Raptor might just be the vehicle for you.
