Regenerative breaking technology is costlier vs very less or negligible output. Reason being is breaking happens only for a second or two in which the vehicle in motion is required to be stopped as a priority, hence total force of break can never be converted into regeneration in such a substantial manner that it recharges the battery substantially

Dumping the power in to a resitive light bulb or heating element is ok for breaking. But the breaking torque drops each second as the rpms drop. Dumping strait into a capacitor bank sort of sucks for breaking because as the geberator slows down and the capacitors charge and voltage, the breaking torque drops precipitously fast untill voltage on the capacitors has risen and the rpm output voltage drops to less than what is stored on the capacitors. Sadly, the remaining energy kenetic energy is unavailable to be converted and stored electrically. you should use a boost converter between the generator and the capacitors, It will be much better at converting power and energy at low rpm volts higher voltage pushing current and power into the capacitor bank.
Yes and it would have stopped even faster had i used the super capacitor pack. But then, stopping the car by applying the brakes is the whole point of using this technology.

But being able to control a boost converter's output voltage controls the power drawn by the capacitor bank, much more like how a person uses their break peddle. And continues to break supplying constant breaking torque all the way down so long as the boost converter can use the lowest voltages output by the generator.
I have thought that too in the past but for utilizing the old batteries that can no longer maintain 12 volts 🤔. Cool , I might try that in my next video and check how it performs.
