A tip for putting annoying bases on! If you can, leave the tree on the roof of the car (or lay on table or porch), position so trunk is hanging off, put base on, then bring in house. Once it's standing, you just have to tweak it so it's straight.

He didn’t hold the pot right, he caught ur hair, he placed the ornament in wrong place etc …. I do like the relaxed version, but maybe just relax a little bit more?

Lovely video, Maddy! But I wonder why choose a poor cut Christmas tree and not a plastic one.. is it more sustainable for you to buy one that has been cut down..? I think it’s a cruel tradition for nature itself
It’s a massive debate. Buying a new plastic Christmas tree isn’t the most sustainable thing. Buying a secondhand one and keeping it for a very long time would be a good idea. Nor is getting a real tree. This has been a tradition in mine and Alex’s family’s since we were children so it’s a part of the magic of Christmas for us. It supports local businesses too. Of course it isn’t the most sustainable choice, but we make efforts in all areas of our lives, including lots of other Christmas traditions, eg foraging and making decorations, eating a plant based Christmas roast, buying locally, homemade and secondhand for presents etc! So it’s a personal choice but definitely not claiming it’s the most sustainable one!

Wish I can have plants indoors. My cats chew on every plant. Most of them are poisonous, especially poinsettias.
