One of the top three in the series easily. The later movies are jokes.

I don’t think those games are given the credit they deserve for changing how driving games were made
Without Test Drive, we’d never have had Hard Drivin’ or Stunt Car Racer which lead on to more sim-like driving experiences.
Without Test Drive, every driving game we have now would have evolved from Outrun, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge and Chase HQ - all fantastic games in their own right but having a 3rd person view of your vehicle breaks a lot of the immersion in a driving game
