They would doubtless work if you could get them out far enough, but I think they would spin in the wind and cut down your distance. The teaspoon size could be worth a try though
brilliant informative video, thank you for sharing, personally i am getting into kayak fishing in the North Norfolk coastline so hoping i will be successful in catching some fish.
What a good fish at 15.17 its a really is a good size. Good video as always can't wait until the winter comes for a bit of shore fishing myself getting back to it again. Lets hope the local planks don't spoil it for me.
Never a way of knowing. Boat fishing you want it running rather than slack, but for shore fishing most anglers like high tide. I personally like the first of the ebb when shore fishing.
You really need to contact a boat angling club for information, as you need to go where the fish are, not always at distance. Often half a mile is enough. Or try your local tackle shop, or ask one of the charter skipper. I have never fished at Brighton. The more information you can gather, the better your chances.
love the videos mate, keep em coming! how far out should you go when boat fishing? ive got a 15ft boat want some advice in regards to locating the fish. i live near brighton. cheers
im going to go out on my kayak soon in bounemouth in the summer fishing for plaice with a flounder spoon not to far from the shore and could u use mackerel strips for plaice or not ?
one more little qustion about plaice fishing on my kayak theres this sandy beach in bounemouth and its all sand and pretty deep there would any sandy beach work do you think ?
No,you need to be in a productive area. Over mussel beds is probably best. You need to go to your local tackle shop, ask them, or try a local fishing club.
What mudflats ? I don't know any ? Do you mean estuaries ? Probably not near mudflats,I would not want the boat to get stuck. Mudflats and boats don't go together.
I like your videos....You are really best ,i am learning a lot ....I like to do something my self too. However my new boat (rota fisherman 5.20)looks like yours ...17feet /half cabin But I didnt launch to sea yet ,i am waiting summer...
Great vid. I do have a small request, please write the latin name of those fish in your commentaries, just so those of us that isn't brittish can find out what kind they are in our own language.
Those banks all got broken up by big storms,so at present everyone is trying to find out where the next banks are formed, and I am sure they won't be publishing the numbers when they locate them !!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... 'wanted' ... I have tears in my eyes ... as you can see - fishermen are also great philosophs ;-) ... and if there is no fish caught, they would even accept a good womens kiss ... ;-)) ... THANKS & CHEERS from AUSTRIA for so many excellent TOTALLY AWESOME FISHING VIDS!
Very Stupid question as a 50 year old 'utter novice' ....why do some anglers hold the rod with eyelets top as opposed to bottom.....and I think I already figured it's either preference or something to do with your skin and the line.....as I say stupid question apologies!, however your videos got me preparing maceral last year, my wife and 9 year old caught them I didn't get a sausage the whole boat trip!!! and I'm planning what's next off the pier or beach....or attempting anyway.....good vid ...thanks.
Sea Anglers do themselves no favors with attitudes off overkill with the species they fish for. This is just another example im afraid, you said it yourself up to 50 boats on a spot and say two people per boat, 12/13 fish you took from a trip and multiple that by an average of boats at a spot that is known to anglers plus people in the boat that is a hell of a lot of fish from one spot. You would and should never have that attitude with freshwater why does not seem to apply to the sea? I am a crazy/fanatical fisherman, addicted since i was a kid but I have never seen more careless disregard for fish from sea anglers than any other group. I appreciate you said Graeme about returning the species but the issue needs to be high lighted a lot more as people are simply selfish most of the time and kill at will when it comes to new spots and old in sea angling shore offshore.
Fish numbers taken by rod and line pale into feeble insignificance when compared to the havoc wreaked by commercial beam trawlers and gill netters. You make a valid point but should focus your energies on 99.9% of the problem rather than the 0.1%. A few anglers taking some decent fish home is far less harmful than cherry-picking the cod out of a two-tonne net then dumping the moribund rest into the sea to feed the crabs.
I will have to stop wearing those Hooped Shirts !!! "Makes me Look FAT " Had the Club record at E C A club not very far from that mark A few grams under 7Lb. Lovely Fish.
I miss these types of videos on the boat, plenty of plaice! Let’s hope this year brings them back on for you 😀

Hi what type of lead sink weight do you use thanks????
On average about 4 ounces for drifting Plaice marks.
are you going to do a a video fishing in the mudflats or is it a little risky for
your boat?
What mudflats ? I don't know any ? Do you mean estuaries ? Probably not near mudflats,I would not want the boat to get stuck. Mudflats and boats don't go together.

let me know if youyr ever lowestoft way, would love to have a fishing session with you. fantastic channel and thanks for the much needed help!
john b yeah well go fishing Id use you as bait but I wouldnt wanna disgust the fish and scare them away
Chris Reid okayyy
What would be your favourite Plaice mark Graeme?
+JJCWhitey56 The one where I caught the last fish from !
could u use that coat hanger rig for flounders?
I guess, but I've never been in an area where there were plenty of flounders, just had the occasional one in among other fish. See no reason why not.
TAFishing could you use a plastic worm for flounders because i fish
in somewhere called poole and they catch lots of flounders there on live bait.
What size hooks were you using?
Can't remember.2/0 to 4/0 I guess.
I like your videos....You are really best ,i am learning a lot ....I like to do something my self too.

Can imagine all your wife's clothes stuffed at the bottom of the wardrobe after stealing all the coat hangers lol

No you don't as far as we know. But you do need to return some undersized fish species
Great day out any chance of them numbers pretty please 🙏
Those banks all got broken up by big storms,so at present everyone is trying to find out where the next banks are formed, and I am sure they won't be publishing the numbers when they locate them !!

Daniel Jones shithole regis
Hi
How about a shore fishing video from Bognor that really tests your fishing capabilities ?
mark williams As Clint Eastwood said..."A man's gotta know his limitations !"......
i would like to catch a plaice

Usually a fixed spool or spinning reel has the eyes facing down, but a multiplying reel has the eyes facing upwards.
funny vid (at start)

This is just one Mussel bed that was found by anglers, there will be many others that are not located.

Do you need a licence to fish in the sea in the uk
'A nicer stamp of fish' is a silly way of saying, 'a bigger fish'!
