Buy Me A Coffee is a great way for anyone, anywhere in the world, to contribute to the channel, and future videos, or if you just want to buy me a coffee, tea, pork pie, or chicken vindaloo. Cheers buymeacoffee.com/countryhousegent
Thank you, you have help me more than you could know I find your channel help my PTSD I am and U.S. Army vet. Your channel on your Narrowboat and this help my mental health. Thank you
Ahhh, time to relax on a Friday with your latest episode. Durness is beautiful, the beach there next to the most excellent campsite is beautiful. Thank you and keep up the good work Kevin. 👍
Always such great content that leaves one feeling calm & optimistic.🙂 Yep, I agree it’s a great time to be alive…& that travel frees the mind. It’s self-realization simply by moving forward and experiencing new surroundings. And it doesn’t hurt when those surroundings are stunning, peaceful, and devoid of distractions like traffic jams, crowds, and vast housing estates.👍🏻 Cheers!
That was great thank you very much. Really enjoyed it again. I love my Saturday mornings.watching your videos.they are fantastic. Thankyou great campsite as well.take care.
I was looking for my tent Kevin in this episode but couldn't see it . I think you said you were driving there on May 11th in an earlier episode. Looks like I arrived after you that day and left before you next morning! You picked a good spot though. I was only disappointed that the pub next to the camp ground wasn't serving any food that day. Pity you missed out visiting Smoo sea cave. It's worth the visit. Next time!
@CountryHouseGent I just doubled checked my date. Yep the 11th May this year. It's a small world! Looking forward to your Orkney and Shetland episodes!
Did we all miss the Northern lights? There was a really good show on the 10th, Friday night. We were further south in Arrochar and we missed them after wearing ourselves out on Ben Starav. I believe there was another show on the Saturday, but it was cloudy in Arrochar.
Kevin, I remember watching you "transition" into narrowboating life... and yes... it was really clear, in a short while, how you relaxed into your slow (tug... tug... tug... tug...) traveling life through the canals of G.B.! Motorcycling seems to suit you as well. Great travel-loges and good commentary!!
Great vlog !i Ive watched you from the beginning ..Itmade my heart ache to watch the first few vlogs. You have come a very long way since ! Its a happy place to visit these days!!BRAVO!...😊🤗😊🙏❤
One of my favourite trips was from Durness to the Kyle of Tongue around the head of Loch Erribol. The scenery is stunning. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Durness has several points of interest. There's Smoo Cave and the John Lennon Memorial Garden for starters. Apparently his Aunt Mimi used to take him there for holidays. If you turn left coming into Durness from the south just before MacKay's store, you come to Balnakeil Craft Village, Balnakiel Beach, and the golf course which is 9 holes but has 18 tees. On the 9th/18th you have to drive across an inlet of the North Atlantic, which is always full of balls if you venture down the cliffs! A few miles east of Durness there's a pair of cairns on the side of the road which mark the entrance to an Iron Age souterraine, and up in the hills to the right of the road there's an Iron Age wheelhouse. A bit of a walk and climb, but well worth the effort.
your unbroken string of excellent videos continues -- question: isn't £6 a bit stiff for doing a load of laundry? (just applying local standards) -- find myself wondering about the fishing boat project -- hope you put that plan into action soon -- this is a great series, visually and informationally
Black/white pudding is like Haggis then - it sounds great I like your philosophy - "travel frees the mind" If ya wanna know what's around the next hill get a map 😉
There's a channel on YT by a guy called Alan Gregory with about 30 videos from 3 or so years ago containing hikes up Highland valleys only accessible by foot. Much of Northern Scotland is "invisible" in that way. The big lump you had in front of you for much of this episode was Ben Hope, 927 m, which Alan climbs in one of his episodes.
My wife has remarked that perhaps we should plan a trip to Scotland. Hmmmm....perhaps I should do some research! Thank you Kevin for another wonderful vid! Fantastically beautiful! Peace!
Durness and surrounding area are gonna take some beating on this road trip, looks so lovely. I’d happily spend a week exploring just around there! I’m adding a trip round the NC 500 to my bucket list (with my Classic Mini Sprite instead of a motorbike). Would be such fun! 🤩Ps. Hope editing and revisiting this amazingly sunny trip is helping to keep that S.A.D. at bay. 🤞
Stornoway black pudding really is the top of the class. Like no other I've ever had and on my next trip to Scotland in a few weeks for a christmas break I'll be hunting some down.
19:55 Ceannabeinne Beach is incredible. Theres a beautiful display of a geological feature called "boudinage" in the cliffs at the west end of the beach which is a Mecca for geology students, (as is the whole area). Boudinage is French for 'sausage' so it'd go well with the black and white pudding.
Yet another brilliant ride and scenery, brings it all back to my wife and I from our trip back in may, hope you enjoyed the black and white pudding, I have just put in my order for black pudding online for Christmas breakfast, take care and ride safe, when will you and Aslam be back on Kevin ?.
Black Pudding with Haggis has to be tried mate before leaving Scotland . Bloody lovely ! Thanks for sharing another great episode sir. Did you miss Smoo Caves ?
I too am a victim of dry black pudding. Had it as a teenager and never again. I really love blood meat though, A Filipino dish of pig meat cooked in its own blood. Usually with a bit of vinegar and patis. Very juicy!
That's funny you should say that about supermarket Black Pud I buy four slice pack from Waitrose and as you say very peppery you used to be able to but in a round similar to horse shoe shape but those days have gone it's like Caerphilly cheese none of the supermarkets sell it anymore its the only British cheese I like.🤔
Black and white pudding ingredients are not familiar or tempting to my American palate. Are these puddings??? something you grew up with, the white I might try, but the blood black one is off limits to my taste.
Brexit - one of the greatest own goals in western political history. Even the fisherman who demanded it now hate it. And those poor lorry drivers! (Not to mention motorcycle tour videographers).
The EU are not exactly full of wise sages either. Germany's energy policy over the years has been disastrous, to mention just one thing out of many. Britain's GDP growth since Brexit has not been terrible in comparison to a lot of other EU countries either, some of which have been struggling themselves. This has been documented by the likes of Andrew Neil. There is also the opportunity to do a trade deal with America coming up. My gripe with a lot of this Brexit complaining is my belief that it's a form of bullying by members of the snooty liberal, middle and upper middle classes in some kind of war of attrition against the people they think aren't as enlightened. It's unabashed snobbery. Like I said to the other guy, I don't usually do politics on channels like this, but I guess Kevin mentioned the unmentionable word, and the chattering class has come out.
@pauld5723 Snooty, who cares? That's just style points and grudges. Brexit was and is just pure stupidity and every one knows it. The ranks of regretful yes voters are legion. Putting any stock in the joker coming to the White House is a huge mistake. He doesn't care about allies at all. I do agree that Pax Europa is in grave danger, yes.
@@pauld5723Hopefully the Labour government can persuade the EU to have a better deal as regards traveling. Certainly as the rules stand at the moment whether you were for or against Brexit it’s unfair.

Today the scenery was spectacular.

I agree that the scenery is the most beautiful anywhere. Enjoying your trip from here in Nova Scotia. 👍

@25:05 so was that a dam(n) or a weir? you didn't say or show. lovely scenery. thanks.
does black and white pudding need to be refrigerated? If so, how do you do it on the BMW? Cheers
Nice one Kevin. Friday night sorted!❤️
Kevin that ride really relaxed me, it was hectic this morning but you’re just what the doctor ordered! Thank you, Charlie from Pennsylvania 😊

In my little mind, when I got the wrong way, it is the scenic route. 😊

Hi Kevin. Do you have a camera facing behind you? I was wondering if you might miss somethings that are behind you, or perhaps different viewpoints.
To get the full flavour of Black Pudding, use Beef dripping :)
