  • After a three month hiatus, it was time to get back into the air. But not before the proper precautions were taken. Luckily, you can get tested for COVID-19 here in Alberta. It's free, convenient and quick. After I received the negative results, I was able to go ahead with the trip.
    Flying within Canada, although with a few restrictions, is still possible. And my goal for this video was to find out how Swoop and the airport of Edmonton handle the situation with the coronavirus.
    Route: YEG-YXX
    Flight Number: WO125
    Airline: Swoop
    Aircraft: Boeing 737-800

    I was surprised how empty YEG was! I flew yesterday from CTS and it wasn't so empty. Interesting comparison. Also agree with DBT, improved quality is noticeable! Well done, Robin!

      Cool, interesting to hear that you can see the quality improvement. Of course, it's also 60fps, but also 4K downscaled to 1080p, so that probably helps. It's a pain to edit thought, I had to buy an external 1TB SSD to be able to get Final Cut to prerender files lol.

    Fantastic review mate. Did you get yourself a new camera? The footage quality looks much better in this video! Liked again!

      Thanks mate! I got an iPhone 11 Pro, which I also used for my last two reviews, but the difference is that I actually recorded in 4K this time and downscaled it to 1080p, which you can see in the quality!

    Great informative video. Thank you. I'm hoping to travel to Germany this december from Toronto. (To make up for my cancelled March trip) Your video gives me a peak in to what to expect.

      Hey Stephanie, I am hoping things will be better come December. Masks will probably still be mandatory that time, including several other measures, but it's all to keep us safe. Enjoy your trip!

    Thanks for this interesting video. Yes, weird to see airports so quiet. Did they do boarding by row, like the back rows first? So no service on board whatsoever? Do they allow bring your own food and drinks?

    • @Vuelogs
      @Vuelogs  3 года назад +2

      Hi Wayne, yes boarding was done by row rear to front, and there was no service at all. The flight attendants stayed in the galley for the entire flight. I didn’t notice anything about food and drinks. I brought a bottle of water without any problems

    Me and my family will be flying swoop in July from Abbotsford to Toronto! Will be our first plane ride! Family of eight got it all booked now, any advice you can give a first time flyer with children would be greatly appreciated! Thanks In advance! So how does check in work?
    Will I get email for paperless check in QR? Or something?
    Do we check the free car seat / booster seat? Or bring on board?
    With infant on lap is it still free to check the car seat under plane?
    How early should we get to airport?
    Flight lands at 10:30 rental place closes at 11 will I have enough time to pick up my rental?
    Should I call rental before I board plane in Abbotsford?
    And call as soon as I land YYZ?

    After “checking in” on the swoop website 24 hrs within your flight. How long did it take for your boarding pass to show up in your email?

    • @Vuelogs
      @Vuelogs  2 года назад +1

      I think with the current restrictions they will not send it to your mailbox as you’ll have to present proof of vaccination and, if flying transborder, a negative test first. Head to the check in counter at the airport to pick it up. Be early as wait could be long.

    when you booked the flight did you have to pay for your checked luggage? I wasn't sure

    • @Vuelogs
      @Vuelogs  3 года назад +3

      I usually travel light with a bag pack only. Checked luggage is likely somewhat less expensive than a carry on

    travelling within Canada does it require you to have a passport on you? or just some driver or photo id for proof of ticket information is enough?

    • @Vuelogs
      @Vuelogs  3 года назад +1

      Any government issued ID. Within Canada I generally carry my drivers license

    Did they ask you for the purpose of your trip? If they did it, Do they asked you for a proof?

    • @Vuelogs
      @Vuelogs  3 года назад +2

      Hey Mariana, they don’t ask for why you’re travelling. There are generally no restrictions on taking planes in Canada.
