    There's a setting for default workspace you can change it to model.
    Preferences
    >General
    >>Design
    >>>Default Workspace

    I tried importing a file into Fusion360 using grabcad but when it imports, the file doesn't let me edit or change anything on the imported design. Any suggestions? (P.S. the file was a STL file)

    Thanks, John! I didn't know how to break the link on projected lines. Very useful. I make similar items all the time and insert an existing part into my design and break the link to modify it. This is very similar. Also I have needed to pick something inside a body, like you did with a plane in this video. I was just turning off the body or component to get to what I wanted to select. Your way is faster.

    Very helpful, Thank You! I've always had issues with "Fusion is referencing cached geometry" due to some bad practices from when I first started using Fusion on a complex model that I'm currently still working on.

    Hey man love the videos. Were you showing that way to show relationship with projected sketch geometry? Because wouldn't it be way faster to just copy the 'body only' of the V block component and save as a new component and delete the rest? That way you would have the hole through the side as well if you wanted that and just 3 steps? Look forward to your thoughts

      Yeah I thought so, and a good way to teach the principle as well especially with the break link. Keep up the awesome work! you are an inspiration to so many!!!! FIVE STARS *****

      All good now John. Had a rough start to 2017, as I've had cancer and surgery etc... on the mend now. Very sorry to hear about your son breaking his arm. We all wish him a speedy recovery. Great to hear from you and thanks for replying. Cheers

    Haha cool! I was working on a similar video showing how to quickly design a spinner from a mcmaster gear file. I hadn't worked out breaking the sketch link yet, Thanks man.

    Whenever I import a file into the side bar it will show up, but when I double click it, it just opens up an internet explorer link on the Autodesk page and the file doesn't go into my project. I've tried with all types of files but I can't figure out how to get it in. I am following the exact steps every time and have looked at a bunch of videos but it won't work. Help would be much appreciated, thanks!

    Off Topic: Do you have problems importing STL files into Fusion 360? When I import STL files into Fusion 360 my file always seems to end up 10 times larger then it should be.

    • @williamhardin5254
      @williamhardin5254 7 лет назад

      Turns out because of a bug in Fusion 360 the STL files are imported in centimeters instead of millimeters making the parts 10 times larger.

    Fusion 360 isn't worth the hard drive space it occupies. I've tried to import much of my stuff from Solidworks and not one single thing has worked.
