ONLY channel that had the balls to show the actual hard part - futzing with that pump! Everyone else just cuts the video and acts like it was super easy... bullshit. Nice job, thanks.
I wonder why RUclips had this video so far down on the page. This job solidified my thoughts of never owning another Nissan in my life!!! Great video though. The last video I watched was four parts. Almost a whole hour was spent on removing the old water pump.
Dude, there is a tool to make it easier removing the pump. Its 2 M8x1.25 bolts on the water pump threads after you remove the hold down bolts. You also have to start with piston #1 in TDC, and then play with the crank left and right(you will not screw up timing because you are not removing the chain), remove the tensioner when you have the most slack on the tensioner side. You then turn the crank until you get the most slack on the water pump side, the use those bolts i stated above. Took me like 10 minutes to remove the pump after i had the 2 windows and belts off.
I believe this applies to 2013 thru 2016 Nissan pathfinder , correct? I have a 2016 Nissan pathfinder which I see greenish coolant on the starter. Do you think that could be water pump issues?
My Infiniti made a whining noise several months in advance, finally the water pump failed. Prior to that I also noticed a strange odor coming from the engine that was apparent even sitting inside the vehicle. I know now that the odor was water mixing with the oil, & the water being at a lower boiling point than the oil, was being boiled away, which was creating the odor.
@@BestCarFixes I'm in Manhattan. I Ordered the parts. i want to change the Thermostat, Water pump and Coolant temp sensor. I already changed the hoses, and the radiator. Doing preventative maintenance. I have a 2010 FX35 with 174K miles. ths water pump in the car is the original.

This video sounds like the United Nations of the mechanic world! Love it!
ingenuity at its best!! Thanks for taking the time to document how to get this job done.
Watching this video convinced me to leave this job to an auto-mechanic.
Ikrr
It's not bad honestly you should see what needs to be done on a ford 3.5 for just the water pump.
Maybe ask your husband??? Of course a woman would see this as hard
Me too 😮😮😮😮
Nice video... same issue with my 2008 g35. Water pump

Buenos mecanicos..yo califico desde sus Erramientas..
Y los guantes
So I guess this Same Method can Work on a 2003 Nissan Murano SL possibly
Nice. A couple people including myself want to know approximately how much for the job? We are VQ owners and would like to know. Thanks
Good info, but the first couple of steps needed to be recorded to show ppl how to rotate the engine for the chain
How do you find tdc
Doesn’t the timing chain tensioner need to be torqued to a certain foot pound when reinstalled
You already know the answer.. Why ask?
@@Ramzkilla1oz I don't know the answer. What is it?
German torque specta 😅

You must know Keith used to be up in Staten Island. Corey took over
FYI, the instruction in this video is also applicable to the 2006 Infiniti. Exactly the same. I own one.
thanks for the info
What are the names of the tools you're using to pick at and pry the water pump out with ??? I need them for mine and are they a certain size ??
I used two flat heads
Do I need to drain the coolant before replacing the water pump?
This is not the same for a HR you need to take the engine cover off
Lo mismo me paso a mi asta que me di cuenta que abia que Girar un poquito había aatras la please para solar un poquito más la cadena
Also big tip for the chain and trying to put it back in a skinny Allen key works wonders lol I imagine a hook would work the same way
Very helpful😎🖖🏼
Glad it was helpful!
So this works for the 09 m35
In think so bro Mine is messed up to
Very Nice, I'm have this same car to work on it on Monday? Before taking out the water pump do I need to put the engine on timing mark.
Just be carful you need to have agood experience for that i dont recomend you doing that
How did you get on with your pump change , did you manage to complete it ?
I have to do the same on my Nissan Elgrand
When is bad water pump they have a whining noise or just over heat
is leaking antifreeze and mix oil with antifreeze I believe for the noise am not sure

Very nice I'm having this problem. Are they still out in Staten Island?
yes
@@BestCarFixes okay nice. How much was it ?

What is the price for this job?
How many miles were on that engine before the water pump went out…..is this a common issue with the Nissan engine ?
Im not sure
This was one frustrating SOB I ever worked on
Is this an hr motor?
this is 3.5 liter engine
this is a DE motor
@@nolankopp7019 the car looks like an '07-08 sedan, but you are correct that this is a DE. wtf lol
What if the timing move
Every thing is gone
😂😂 most accurate answer ever
0:32 Infiniti 5.3 liter. Must be ls swapped.
How much for this job? I need my water pump replaced on my 2010 FX35.
Where are you located

From Ghana
I love Ghana
I need some engine and gearbox for infiniti ex35 2010 model please if u can help me
Looks like the water pump hole was supposed to be down and they put it up
There is only one way to put the water pump in because of the configuration of the mounting flange... that's one thing that is foolproof.
That looks like a DE not a 2008 g35 Hr
good g
Thank you
Now change your greasy belts ;-)
Smh this narrator guy is so annoying af😢😅 I'm sorry ..you can tell the mechanics is irritated 😢😂😂
