From Wikipedia:
Philadelphia, often called Philly, is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,[6] the sixth largest city in the U.S., the second largest city in the Northeast megalopolis (behind New York City), and the 68th largest city in the world. Since 1854, the city has had the same geographic boundaries as Philadelphia County, the most populous county in Pennsylvania and the urban core of the Delaware Valley, the nation's seventh-largest and world's 35th-largest metropolitan region, with 6.096 million residents as of 2020.[9] The city's population as of the 2020 census was 1,603,797.
Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn, an English Quaker. The city served as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony during the British colonial era. Philadelphia went on to play a historic and vital role in the 18th century as the central meeting place for the nation's founding fathers whose plans and actions in Philadelphia ultimately inspired and resulted in the American Revolution. Philadelphia hosted the First Continental Congress in 1774 following the Boston Tea Party, preserved the Liberty Bell, and hosted the Second Continental Congress during which the founders signed the Declaration of Independence, which historian Joseph Ellis has described as "the most potent and consequential words in American history". Once the Revolutionary War commenced, both the Battle of Germantown and the Siege of Fort Mifflin were fought within Philadelphia's city limits.
The U.S. Constitution was later ratified in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Convention of 1787. Philadelphia remained the nation's largest city until 1790, when it was surpassed by New York City, and served as the nation's first capital from May 10, 1775 until December 12, 1776 and on four subsequent occasions during and following the American Revolution, including from 1790 to 1800 while the new national capital of Washington, D.C. was under construction.
In the 19th and 20th centuries, Philadelphia became a major national industrial center and railroad hub. Its industrial jobs attracted European immigrants, most of whom initially came from Germany and Ireland, the two largest reported ancestry groups in the city as of 2015. Later immigrant groups in the 20th century came from Italy and other Southern European and Eastern European countries. In the early 20th century, Philadelphia became a prime destination for African Americans during the Great Migration after the American Civil War. Puerto Ricans began moving to the city in large numbers in the period between World War I and II, and in even greater numbers in the post-war period. The city's population doubled from one million to two million people between 1890 and 1950.
This was a very good drive around Philadelphia! Very well done I wanna thank You! Now I’m looking forward to visiting Philly again!!
I miss home, thank you for this video
Beautiful day 💕 and Nice Nice Ride 👍 thankyou sir...
Because of this channel, I'm noticing things that I've noticed before on roads I've driven on because I was too busy driving. I don't know if that's a good thing or not but thanks.
Oh yeah it's a good thing. You guys see things I don't even notice sometimes while filming.
Great drive around Philly!
2:54 I’ve never seen parking like that 🥸🥸
Yeah it's the first time I've seen it anywhere. Pennsylvania has some "unique" traffic things going on.
Can’t wait to hear your take/thoughts on the freeway system in the northeast.. I’m sure they’ll be a video in the future haha
Let me guess... Broad Street, South Philly
@@hankkonstanty7138
Correct! Just looks alien lol
That's a South Philly thing. Broad Street is wide enough to allow it because parking down there is scarce.
1:27:48 Independence Hall on the right!!
Great ride! However, being picky, I noticed you missed the PA State Route 611 shield in the lower corner while going up South Broad Street.
Nice drive in Philadelphia PA
Well their NFL football team doing good..... for now
Haha, yes for now.
@@MileageMikeTravels I'm a Houston Texans fan and we play those eagles this year

Nice!! 🥰🫶🏼✂️💇♂️💇♀️
Downtown Philadelphia? I thought it was referred to as 'Center City'.
True but those not familiar with it will probably search RUclips for "downtown".
@@MileageMikeTravels true. Point well taken. 😀
Compared to the Philadelphia today, The Old Western Town Deadwood was a place to be Proud.

Berasa lagi di setirin ga si?? Makasih videonya.. love frm Indonesia
13:14 what is all that chanting about?
There was some guy with a mic talking about something off to the left. He had a lot of people gathered around him but I'm not sure what it was about. I think it may have had something to do with politics.
I didn't know people in Philadelphia Park on yellow lines
Yeah it seems to be a thing there. I've never seen it anywhere else.
@@MileageMikeTravels Well in South Philly especially, parking is at a prenium so you park wherever you can fit a car without blocking anything. You should of seen it in the 70's when cars were alot bigger then!
US is so empty, it’s scary
Have you been to Pittsburgh, PA yet? Not me!
Not yet
@@MileageMikeTravels I knew it!
film the reality
did you know it's illegal to change lanes through an intersection. Cop can pull you over and write you a ticket: For illegal lane change.
Depends on the state. I don't think it's illegal in PA.
come on! It doesn't depend on the state.
Here that's not really a violation. You need to watch out for people who run thru red lights and stop signs. Happens all the time here!
