Guys trust me, I'm born in Kerala raised in NY. I played College Ball in NYC. Lot's of really high level Indian ball players here.. The truth is, you have to start young, maybe replace the cricket bats with some hoops!! Chinese players had NBA influence 25 years ago, India is just starting. NBA coaches have already started to invest in India. The government just needs to be open to it. Hope to see more youth playing BBall next time I visit...

good game... but in Defence there's a lot to work... they are only blocking the opponent's movement, eyes and their shooting... they are not blocking the path of ball (specially at the rim) ... They must improve interchange of opponent to whom he was about to guard (mainly during screen situation) ... I think they improved that now...

The Indians had flashy guard play but the Chinese had good fundamentals. Also they were all built like bricks. in my opinion. The Indian team needs to get at least one more strong PF or SF. Whenever the Chinese team sets up a pick & roll situation the Indian team has a disadvantage therefore it's gonna be an easy post-up opportunity if we can make the pass. Also, don't have to mention Indian team lost a lot of rebounds.
If they want to play small its ok but you need to be fast and very good at shooting. Yes, the Indian team made a lot of lay-up but most of the time they didn't get by passing our players. (The #10 had a lot of great finishing plays).
Also, they need to work on their defence. We had a lot of open 3 chances. After all, good game.

I don't like the scoring system, an outside shot inside the paint is 1 point, a free throw is 1 point, a shot outside the paint is 2 points.

This is a physical mismatch. The Chinese players have at least 30-40 pounds on the Indian players.

They are young and need experience. Piyush Meena is 6'10 and height matters in every form of basketball. Coach Matic isn't a fool .They are more experienced and educated in the field than you so let them do their job and if you can just appreciate them for the efforts they are putting to represent the country. Playing in international level representing the second highest populated country is by far a big feat!

@@sworupsedhai6332 this particular mentality of yours is the exact reason for all of this..to get selected for the Indian team and that's it...the goal should start the day they get selected for the national team...to win atleast some games... without criticism no sport will last...have you heard of the redeem team?..yes they lost one game and decided to bring the best on to the next..so as to never lose again..
