in my opinion. The Indian team needs to get at least one more strong PF or SF. Whenever the Chinese team sets up a pick & roll situation the Indian team has a disadvantage therefore it's gonna be an easy post-up opportunity if we can make the pass. Also, don't have to mention Indian team lost a lot of rebounds. If they want to play small its ok but you need to be fast and very good at shooting. Yes, the Indian team made a lot of lay-up but most of the time they didn't get by passing our players. (The #10 had a lot of great finishing plays). Also, they need to work on their defence. We had a lot of open 3 chances. After all, good game.
I think it was a good performance by the Indian team. Basketball is not at all popular in India but it is definitely popular in China so by that standards Indian team performed fairly well (at least at this point but in the future will surely improve a lot).
I am Chinese but I feel something wrong with the way they select the Chinese team especially the guard. The guard is not very good at ball handling. The players are strong and tall but their handles or plays are quite stiff. Not sure why. I see lots of good players playing well but the ones show up in the big games tend to be stiff..... Why...
idk as a Chinese basketball player myself. What I see is most of the guards are not good at handling the ball. The guards are more tend to be shooting and cutting inside. This might be because of Chinese player mostly play basketball after age of 13 at might be lack of ball sensitivity
The Indians had flashy guard play but the Chinese had good fundamentals. Also they were all built like bricks. People forget, this is half court, and flashy guard play only works against players who don't play good team defense. Also all that flash waste energy and take the offense out of sync.
I am from Ludhiana...we had a bit of a basketball culture even in the 1990s. Our guys played well but China got more second chances by grabbing more rebounds due to their size advantage.
good game... but in Defence there's a lot to work... they are only blocking the opponent's movement, eyes and their shooting... they are not blocking the path of ball (specially at the rim) ... They must improve interchange of opponent to whom he was about to guard (mainly during screen situation) ... I think they improved that now...
