James' breathtaking voice is simply incomparable. Tho Sebastion's performance was excellent, he didnt sound as good as he COULD have, or as good as he TRULY IS because he was singing with... It's the coaches DECISION who to get in the final rounds of the contest. AND the coaches CHOSE James for Sebastian because they know Sebastian CAN perform TOE TO TOE with James. Sebastian is known for his difficult high notes. Check the part where James said something like "why did I write this high note" which Sebastian had no problem reaching.
James has a soulful voice, Sebastian has more of a rock style voice. Neither is better than the other, just different. James even said in the video that Sebastian can reach notes that he can't. Sebastian to me sounds a bit like Chester Bennington and he was wonderful.
