HI Randi! Debbie the Canadian Crocheter recommended this video :-) Your tutorial is excellent and the music is mesmerizing. Look forward to watching more of your podcasts!
Randi, I am in the midst of doing ur half Moon shawl and I am doing pretty good...it is probably a little hard for me but I love it...I just wanted to let you know that ur a great teacher and I am excited to get back to it... thanks for being u
Hi Randi, I attempted to make your pattern on Hangetsu shawl! Not sure why my shawl is starting to wave-- so I decreased stitches. Thanks! I like the way you teach... I'll have to download the pattern... I'm a advanced novice...
Randy thank you so much for your lovely tutorial, I'm on my 5th one been using different colors of premier Muir woods and received comments every time I wear one of them.💕💕💕💕
Hi Randi absolutely gorgeous shawl thank you for sharing! I love how you do tutorials you make it easy to understand again thank you for sharing I am going to make this!!
Hey Randi! Was watching Rose Loves Crochet last night and she had made this shawl and it was so pretty. I want this to be my next project once I finish the 2 projects I'm working on now. Hope you and the boys are doing good. It's hard to believe schools are about ready to start, huh! I'd say you're staying busy getting them ready for this school year. You are great doing tutorials. You have such a soothing voice. And I wanted to say the background music was calming too. Take care and I'll see you on your next episode!
Thank you, Terri! Life is insane, but I'm trying to keep my head screwed on tight. lol! So glad you loved the background music! I compiled it myself and use it for most of my tutorials. I feel like crochet is therapeutic to me, and the mellow music helps pass that vibe on to others.
Hi, I've been watching you for a while now and just subscribed. I'm from sunny California, part of the San Fransisco Bay area. Thanks for the tutorial, I love the shawl. Can't wait to start one today!
Crocheting more of this particular pattern, or making more shawl patterns? I'm working on another Hangetsu right now, but haven't been struck by any snazzy new shawl ideas, yet! Thanks for checking it out!
Hey ! hi Randi* Wanted to comment on your shawl that it is very pretty..... I have it almost completed and is fun to crochet. I like how you started it too. Very symmetrical> I don't know what happened but mine is very swingy towards the bottom and probably added too many stitches but I do like it and will keep it that way. Thank you for posting and look forward to more shawl pattern tutorials... :-)
Hi!!..thank you for this beautiful Shawl tutorial...!! I loved it the first time saw it..I love shawls..I haven't made a half circle shawl before...love the edging..as you said it's goes with the Triangle stitch very well...I just love it..!!..Made with Shawl in a Cake Lion Brand yarn..color way Crown Jewel..!!..love the color of your shawl .thank you for sharing..!!
Hi! Before I buy the written pattern, does it tell you at the end of each row what the stitch count should be? You don't have this in your video but I'm loving the pattern!

Hi Randi, I ordered this from you and other items. I am so impressed. Really beautiful. I’m trying to leave a review on Etsy but does some time have to pass first? It won’t open to leave a comment/review. I can read others that left a review. Anyway, I’ll keep trying, and thank you! Much respect!!!! Beautiful work!!!! Great shipping/packing too. Thx Randi! Nancy
Etsy has been having some technical issues lately, it seems. Not sure. But you're holding a piece of history, Nancy! That was the first item I designed and created from my own design!
Grace Moran Thank you! You can make it in any weight yarn! Just use a hook 1mm-3mm larger than the recommended size for that yarn. Here I used worsted weight yarn & an 8mm hook.
In this pattern, you start with 6 double crochet stitches in row one, then row two increases to 12 double crochet stitches. To make sure you have the right count for the big pattern repeats later, you might be able to do any multiple of 6, but I wouldn't recommend starting with a multiple of 8 since I haven't tested it.
May I ask what brand of yarn and the colorway you used to make that beautiful shawl you're wearing in the intro? Thank you very very much for the tutorial! I'm a shawlaholic!
I'll put a line about it into the pattern. Did the video clarify the problems you were having from just the written pattern? The pattern and video are meant to go side-by-side.
I have made this shwal several times now and its one of my fav. 🥰🥰🥰👍
I love this shawl. It looks light weight just right for spring and nice summary or fall day.
What a beautiful shawl. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Brenda! Best of luck! If you need any extra help, join the FB group and we can chat about it there!
Love it! Thanks for modeling so that I know how to wear it.
Thanks, Silvia! You can also wear it in the front with it tied behind your neck. It just naturally felt right as a shoulder and back covering, to me.

Hi! Before I buy the written pattern, does it tell you at the end of each row what the stitch count should be? You don't have this in your video but I'm loving the pattern!
For the first round of rows, yes. Since you can repeat it infinitely, after the first section, I don't include stitch count. Glad you're enjoying it!
This is lovely. Thank you!!!

vary pretty dear......thanks Aleta Sneed
I have a big cake 601 yards medium 4 weight will this make a decent size? Ty in advance
It certainly should! I used less than one ball of Herrschnerrs Worsted 8 (489 yds) and made a shawl that almost reaches my elbows.
Random Randi's Ramblings Ty for the quick reply I'm supposed to be asleep it's 3.45am here in uk 🇬🇧 # youcanneverwatchjustonetutorial

I love this Shawl, what other yarn can be used? Is yours a 4 worsted weight? Thank you! 💕

So lovely.
Beautiful
Can you use it’s a wrap yarn by red heart it’s a 1 weight I think? If so what hook size? I’ve been looking for an easy moon shape to do.
Yes! A 4-5mm hook would be best with that weight of yarn. Depends on how lacy you want your stitches to turn out.
Okay thank you I’ll try that size hook. I just want to use all of the cake and have it nice drape and be pretty. I’ll use it for a scarf as well.
Wahou wonderfull 🥰😍🥰😍
Thank you! This is my most popular pattern, to date!
l used a big hook size for Number three yarn it look small
How many repeats of rows 8-14 did you complete, Lucy? Normally 4 repeats with DK weight yarn turns out a decent size.
Thank you.
Hello, and where do you buy your yarn. It's so pretty.
Erica Lovett The green sparkle yarn is from Herrschners and the autumn variegated sample is from Ice Yarns. Thanks for watching!
I love it!! ❤️I want to take that 1 thumbs down and reposition it🤨
Nearly 6k views and only one dislike... I'm happy with those stats.

Thank you! Gracias!
Hola muy bonito el chal pero teje muy rapido y no pone numeros de cuantas cadenas
Lovely
Do We Need To Buy Pattern Dear ..Aleta Sneed
Ok if we started with 8 and are increasing wouldn’t that be 16?
In this pattern, you start with 6 double crochet stitches in row one, then row two increases to 12 double crochet stitches. To make sure you have the right count for the big pattern repeats later, you might be able to do any multiple of 6, but I wouldn't recommend starting with a multiple of 8 since I haven't tested it.

Πως να πλέξουμε εμείς που δεν ξέρουμε την γλώσσα;
Θα βοηθούσε αν γράψατε τους πόντους ,τις σειρές με νούμερα ποια σειρά επαναλαμβάνεται
How many grams of thread to make this shawl?
200-300 grams of worsted weight makes a decent sized shawl.

That TriSt into the first V is the confusing one. It's not clear in the written pattern that you skip that DC before the V.
I'll put a line about it into the pattern. Did the video clarify the problems you were having from just the written pattern? The pattern and video are meant to go side-by-side.
It did but I'm finding that I have fudge after row 11. I'll be interested to know what other experience. My brain may just not be clicking in.
