How do you consider the difference as only 5mins when you talk multiple times about how much higher your HR was on the vintage bike? Clearly the difference is greater than you suggest.
Great video, thanks. It doesn't sound like your maths ate cotrebt though! You say that the endurance took 57.41 and 54.36 for the eScultura (that's 3.05 difference, not 5+ mins) no biggie and principle still stands. One q though - love the jacket - is it Assos?
My question is simple - once you achieve the 25km per hour, is there any drag on the pedals, is it noticeably slower/more difficult to achieve 32+km per hour?
Interesting comparison. I suppose the slower you are (due to ability or climbs on the route) the more the e-bike makes sense. Talking of which, what was the length of the last segment ? Since it was a draw I'm guessing the average speed was around 25 so a length of about 4.2 km since it took you 10 minutes ?
We're glad you enjoyed it - the last flat section along the river was around 5.5km. As you say, if your average ride speed is generally at or below the assistance limit, then you'll see a greater difference when using the ebike, but if you're generally over that speed limit, it's likely to just be on the climbs where you see a boost! - Jon
@@MERIDABIKES-INT Thanks for the reply, so that would be a fast average speed of 33kph then ? In that case the assistance wouldn't have kicked in much if at all ? It also goes to show that when you're cruising on flat ground the weight doesn't really matter much. More puzzling is the fact that your HR was higher on the non assisted bike though !
Great video, you have a nice easy to watch and listen to style and explain everything very well ...can I ask, is the escultura ok for a bit of off light road riding along trails and canal paths, thanks
Hi there, the eSCULTURA should be okay for light off-road work such as canal tow paths and the like, but we'd suggest the eSILEX might be a better choice as it has larger volume tyres to improve comfort. Hope that helps!
How much flexibility is there for bike fitting? Can adjustments be made to the handlebar position with risers and the stem length like normal or are there e-components hiding inside those?
Hi there, it's possible to move the bar position up and down just like a normal road bike and you can also change the handlebars should you wish to, though the stem choice has to be a MERIDA EXPERT IR model due to the cable routing. These are available in 80 mm, 90 mm, 100 mm and 110 mm lengths. Hope that helps!
Hi good video l liked your comparison, l have a endurance scultura 6000 and was thinking of swapping the stem out for a Red shift stem. Is this possible?
No - the name MERIDA comes from a rough translation of the three syllables in Taiwanese “Me-Ri-Da” means that the company’s intention is to manufacture only beautiful and high-quality products enabling anyone to reach her or his destination as pleasantly as possible. Hope that helps!
Unless you are a pro racer in competitions where you must have a real bike with no battery pack, why would anyone choose a regular road bike over an e-road bike?
Not only, if wind is super duper strong on flats where I usually ride at +30km/h with my normal road bike I go down to below 20k so an ebike here would help as well 😂 I'm thinking on buying an ebike in the future tbh but I can wait Also a heavier bike is a nice way to train harder, you can turn off assistance and get stronger I tried a cheap ebike from a friend, it's 28kg and first thing I did was to climb my usual mountain road without assistance 😂 Then I did with it to actually test the motor and it's fun not going to lie.
at an overweight 125kg trying get back to cycling my eScultura is my choice to eventually get me back onto my un assisted but gorgeous BMC.
Explanation videos without BGM is the best, thank u.

We're very pleased you found it helpful, thanks!

Great test 👍
You are in good condition 💪
But with 90kgs and poor condition, the ebike is much more better :)
Thanks
I will buy...

On the flat. No. Against headwinds and up hill. Yes. On the flat 25 kmh speed limit is annoying.

Hi there, the SCULTURA ENDURANCE 6000 uses a standard 1 1/8th steerer tube, so this should not be a problem. Hope that helps!
Thanks helps heaps😃
Cool bike
It's there any relation between the Spanish city of Merida and the Merida Brand bikes or its just a mere coincidence? Just courius about it.

Like if pros never where caught using hiden motors in competition 😂
@@nemure Wasn’t my point.
I always fly past e bikes-its only on hills they are better
