    Hi there , came to you via the shout out from Brupeg and binge watched all your episodes from the water to here. Great project . I’ve been following a number of other steel boats SV Seeker of course, Building SY Mistress and Adventures of an Old Sea Dog. Subscribed , Good luck. I’ve been to your part of the world a couple of times very very beautiful and my dad spent time in Tofino and Vulcan in 1943 training to be a pilot before heading off to the UK. He was very fond of Canada and the people he billeted with returning a number of times after the war as well as hosting his mom and pop as he called them back here in NZ .

    It looks better when it is flush, but you could technically let it overlap on all edges on the inside or the outside, since its not under the waterline?

      Yep it’s a lot! Logan has been a heavy duty mechanic mostly working on logging equipment in the bush for years and Taryn has been a welder/ fitter/ blacksmiths apprentice, so luckily we have skills that have transferred well. Just trying to teach the dog to weld now… 😂

    Hi All. Curious between 12:46-12:52 the ribs have 3 welds spaced out. Is there a reason to this instead of welding the entire rib?

    • @WaywardLifeSailing
      @WaywardLifeSailing  7 месяцев назад

      yeah :) so the short welds are all that are needed for strength, and since they are inside of the locker they don't need to hold water out, so we chose not to fully weld them. If we had fully welded them we would have put extra heat into the plates and increased the chances of warping which we also didn't want.
