The voice control was an early use of digital concept with the presenter using short bursts of his voice as binary to represent 0’s and 1’s which in turn was translated into a command such as move, stop, backup etc. These concepts have around a lot longer than most modern people think, paving the way for the technology that we think just appeared today out of nowhere. The back breaking work of R&D was already done so we modern humans can claim that we did it all and that people in the past were so primitive. I’m blown away by the thoughtful and intelligent disposition of the technological industries of yesteryear.
That had me wondering, what did they really have in the 30's 🔊🔊⚡⚡ So that train was (Sound-Impules-Controled) ? 🚂🚂 Not someone (Remote-Controlling) it ?
Well Boeing has achieved the same, only 24 years younger. Considering man's first flight was 13 years before Boeing, and founded by one man, not five. (which among GE's founders was one of the richest men at the time, JP Morgan)
4:20 The invisible light, making invisible visible reminds me of the movie "they live" their sunglasses in effect do the same as what's described here in 1933.
Wish we still had those robot dinosaurs. Besides Jurassic Park I don't think a robot dino was made since 1933. There's a few theme parks but those are roller coaster rides.
People had more pride in their appearance back then. Today, no matter where you go, you see total slobs. It has nothing to do with socioeconomics. People are just lazy. And for God's sake, we need a dress code for airports. Smh
Question, why do people think the climate is not supposed to change? Look at the other planets in the solar system, their climates change also. Look at geography, and see what has created places like the Grand Canyon. Did you know the Arctic used to be tropical? The earth has been constantly changing for millions of years.
@@susanhubbart5494 Who gives a damn about melting polar ice caps, and catastrophically rising global temperatures? Stuff the environment! Let's all use LOTS of fossil fuels and electricity from non-renewable sources! Let's pump out that CO2 like there's no tomorrow! 👍🤣
It's a pity GE didn't apply their innovation to the quality of the film? It's jittery as hell! 👎 And what of the innovative miracle that is the Electric ⚡ Chair? 😂😂😂

Amen.
Respect for Innovation.
You are a Tech Interpreter, if ever there was one.
Write more.
I love watching those old video.
Amazing that, and so nice that, GE has kept its logo all these years!! Proud of you, GE!!

Who would had say that those old video were going to be watching in today awsome
Ive never seen pictures of kids at these fairs or any construction pictures
What an amazing insight into life then and now...I liked the sandwich press toaster which was so ahead of its time, and still being made by GE.
Delightful
im amazed as well. never been to a world fair that would have been a great one to see.
And then all hell broke loose.

The dress up era. All the men wore hats. And suits and ties. Shined shoes, pressed clothes.
0:05 Speaking of "an RCA Photophone Recording", GE would later buy RCA and make it defunct in 1986.
eu tinha um chevette ano 78 que os faróis, tinham amarca General Electronic é uma marca muito boa.
Cool! Where can I get some of this "eleck trissity" ?
My favorite part of the film is from 1:55-2:30. The swirling logo in lights.😵😀
there was a similar logo inside Horizons at Walt Disney World
Everyone wore a hat back then!
I still do : )
Voice control in 1933? How could that be done? Must be very primitive. And without any computers...
Ah no they seem far more advanced then you would think
[1:44] has a pretty weird orientation on those bas reliefs. World War 2 put an end to that b/s. Same with those "sun" buildings. Snuffed out, hard.
I would love to see a similar presentation on the GE exhibit at the 1939 WY World's Fair. I've never been able to find one..
they never did one.
"From toothpicks to turbans...marshaled in proud and glamorous review."
I think they meant turbines (for power generation) ??
We inherited this realm. From the buildings railroads and technology it's been around for a long time. #mudflood
This was produced long before light pollution became an issue.
What is a "Mazda Lamp"? !
It is a name brand of light bulbs that no longer exist. I have 4 of them that are 100 years old and still work.
Another video told me Steel was Man's Servant. Didn't even mention electricity.
wheres the mention of nikola tesla ?
He was a drunken broke buffoon by this time and no one took him seriously
Who?
back when there was hope for the future
Scrapped
In 1933 .......
Overwhelming
General electric

The opening of Pandora's box. And now we curse the power generating stations that keep all of our "conveniences" running
Only the weak minded brainwashed EcoNazi's
How unfortunate that the print is in such poor shape.
angle say nothing happy birthday OG
During the crash and we build this. Hmmm sure they weren’t already there. All the expo’s are wierd.

You mean pajamas aren’t proper traveling attire?
Obama said we was loud to
I was at the airport once and a woman was traveling in thigh-high high heel boots and shorts so short her butt cheeks were hanging out. 😳
you shouldn't be going to airports
Little did they know the problems our fossil fuel and electricity ⚡ addiction would have in the future? Climate change and Global Warming.
Its all from the toasters!

Clive, it might be that old Edison patent movie film, like his DC current, it was ok....Tesla had better stuff.
