I’m a fairly handy (I hope!) widow studying mounting this RCA antennae on the side of my house. This was 1000% helpful, very clear, not assuming technical language. THANK YOU.
Looks like a very good antenna. No VHF TV left in my neck of the woods, all UHF now. What's that cabana type structure at 12:23 ? Is that part of your property or a communal facility? Looks like a good place to play radio from on a nice day.
Hi James... I have a corner property with that communal screened in cabana/party house that is next to me that no one uses! So no noise from people there all the time. I can use it whenever I want though, and I was thinking the same thing that it would be cool to put a field expedient antenna outside and operate from there.. I haven't done it yet but would be fun.
Happy with mine too , getting ready too add a channel Master Titan preamp . I guess the trees aren't causing any problems for you , I've got a clear path as far as signal .
That preamp should be a nice addition to your setup. I do have trees with leaves in the way not too much of a problem except when it's raining and the leaves are all wet it blocks far away signals pretty good! The leaves are down now for the winter! Most of the channels are close though, and come in crystal clear through the leaves.
When the other tree leaves grow in the spring, very distant station will be affected especially when rain gets the leaves wet. Closer stations aren’t affected much by the leaves. Thanks for the great question.
Hi.. no amplifier needed. I read the manual again and no there was no reference to an channel amplifier in the manual I found online and it the box. It did say to connect the coax to the transformer (and that the coax is not included). The transformer is the black plastic device with the female coax jack on it (it's really a transmatch). So you are good to go with just the coax. I live rural and I'm getting 14 stations on the antenna and a few are over 60 miles away, so it's been working great for me.
One thing I have learned is that if you run the antenna to more than one TV and use a splitter there is signal loss through the splitter. If you find that you have channels experiencing pixelation or drop outs you can temporarily bypass your splitter to test for the need of either a distribution amplifier or preamplifier.

You have a lot of tress around do they affect reception , so you didn't need a booster wow thats great

I just bought one...do I need a channel amplifier for it...in the instructions ..it says so...
