No matter how many times I watch, I enjoy it like it was my first time watching. Thats love for carp fishing and nothing else. Love it!! Greetings from Croatia Simon!
hi Simon. Its impossible not to make comment on this amazing video! My goodness, this is the most real video that I've ever sow about carp fishing! Happy that at the end you've catch a good chunk! You are already the legend in carp fishing, top of the top!!! Thanks Goran
Just discovered your vlogs Simon and really enjoying the down to earth, no nonsense approach with plenty of realism from an old school carper. I remember well your Carpworld articles with Rob and your enthusiasm is undimmed. This trip makes my own drive and survive trips look like a vicars tea party! Inspiring stuff and tremendous confidence to tough it out for an awesome result given the challenging conditions.
I'm at a loss for words for all your persistence and dedication Si - yet you still remember the fine detail - the story of the one fish that you heard, and the description of the coots "going loco" with that typical alarm call was priceless, and would only be recognised by the most experienced of carpers - respect...!!!
Hey Simon, I've been reading your article's since the mid-90's and to see you with the same amount of enthusiasm after all these years is great. Great that you put so much effort into the filming as well so we viewers can enjoy the ride too. I have fished Chanty a few times so I know exactly how demanding these huge French waters can be. I think we both know that if you had stayed there another week it would probably have gone right off, but that's carp fishing! Always another trip.... Nice one.
Mattie Mclean Thanks mattie, yeh there were fish still about but they started spawning and I can’t fish for them when they’re doing that. I could have stayed a bit longer but prefer to let them get on with it and then have a few days rest thereafter. As you say, there’s always another time 👍
One of the best videos I've watched Simon, absolutely fantastic viewing, showing the true art of carp fishing. Well done on the fish captures well angled , keep em coming a great change from the manicured bivvy peg lakes were getting loved it.
Come on people . When you think yeah I no my stuff now, had some ruff nights fishing ,thinking your the man then you watch this guy and realise that's a complete different level. Well done deserved the reward 👍👍👍
Well done Simon fantastic video. I have fished the Orient a few times and it really helped me relive some distant memories. I enjoyed watching your adventure unfold and it was so interesting seeing you bivvy up in your boat. I was so pleased to see all your hard work paid off with some fabulous fish, which often on these huge waters is not the case....... top angling fella!
A stunning video showing the drive and determination of a top angler. What else was great not one mention of the fishes weight, it hardly matters when you get to fish somewhere so iconic like the Orient. Well done Mr Crow 👏👏
denty32 that’s why I didn’t put them in the vid Denty, weight is irrelevant on somewhere like that, I was just glad to get some fish in the end, thanks mate 👍
that was epic mate some extreme fishing there and must of been very frustrating at first but it all pay'd off with them stunning carp well done get in 👊😎 and that run well you took fishing too another level there lol
I admire you for your ingenuity and for not minding roughing it. A true sense of adventure and wild fishing. You were saying Simon about carrying lots of water and that is heavy work. Have you not thought of getting a Water filter would have been just a case of leaning over the side of the boat then to collect it as needed. I am quite surprised no fishing company has brought one out as yet. There are some brilliant ones on the market in hiking stores etc, not too expensive either Another Great video. One Love and Tight Lines to you and ALL .
absolutely a cracking vlog one of the best so far, to keep plugging away at it in them sort of conditions constantly wearing waders I can imagine its mentally straining too,, well deserved on the captures a great watch
This video gives a glimpse of what it takes to fish big wild lakes, even when I fished brogborough with a boat you still needed to be fully prepared with all relevant kit needed..doff my cap simon good effort
I watch a lot of vlogs but buy far this has to be my best one yet. Absolutely brilliant to do all that filming and fishing in those conditions is brilliant. Well looking forward to the next one.👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@SimonCrow I wrote a few words...YOU went out there.and kicked Ass..Keep doing what you are doing bro.ya following will only get better.Again.Thank-you for a wonderful instalment into your life Brother.Much love.Xxx
Stark contrast between this excellent video by a proper angler.. and the Korda thing where they had a catering unit, seven cameramen and a minder !!!!!
Quality that. Planning a trip like that one day myself. Some graft went in to catching those fish must have been an amazing feeling when the alarm went off. 👍
I must've watched this video 10 times in the last two months, it never gets boring, it is absolutely epic! What are the rules on night fishing from a boat/the jungle margins? Reading Peckys book, it sounds like night fishing is from 01st May? Would love to give it go.
Well done.., I use a boat myself (16ft aluminum) to fish for US fish where there is no bank access. But my efforts are not in the same league as your session here! Great fishing!
You really are a maniac and i love it, so much respect for the amount of effort you put in. hopefully one day i am in a position where i can give d'Orient a crack (probably in about 15 years)
need to give you some major credit on this one, real hard core carping at its best, and you didnt wine one bit, took it all in your stride, and run lol, you defo have the carp bug bad, and its great to see, and as always you got the results in the end , half these other you tube, glory hunting in the click well known sponsored anglers, thats doing the rounds for the same old fish ,wouldnt know where to start, me also, great effort, well done
Nice vid. Well earnt fish, on a huge lake. Most carp anglers are happy to catch fish with names AKA pets on small ponds, subject them them to repeated stress and call it fishing
Explain this to non anglers: Sitting 11 days on a boat, running 6 miles to get some food..... They think you are insane brother. :) So happy to see you get rewarded in the end.
Wow! There’s not many Carp fishing situations now a days that your can say regardless of the fishing aspect you’ve had a REAL adventure in the wild! Fascinating watch mate and glad to see you managed to get a run in, even though the Carp were on the better nutritional food than you!😂
At the beginning when he's just boating out.... them things he passes are what you call 'snags' !! Entire, full size bloody trees (in leaf too!!). Can you imagine the fun you'd have if one of Orients 70lb Carp decided it wanted to go through them things ?? A bit more than a snag leader is required me thinks. Try praying lol.
local day ticket lake, lol.. nice.. reminds me of fishing in the desert.. nobody for miles, fish wild as can be, nobody but god to help you if something goes wrong.. beautiful venue and fish..
Another brilliant film Simon, proper hardcore fishing , brilliant ! 1 question mate , what polorized glasses do you use? And are they prescription ones? i have to wear glasses and im having trouble finding a pair that fit over my specs and actually work !
john shrimpton Thanks John, I honestly don’t know what make they are, I got given them years ago by a bloke who has a glasses stand at the carp shows in the uk. They are amber lens and I really do favour these lenses the most as I find them better than grey or brown
No matter how many times I watch, I enjoy it like it was my first time watching.
Thats love for carp fishing and nothing else. Love it!!
Greetings from Croatia Simon!

Hi there! Brilliant footage and session. Wondering what you use battery wise for the outboard motors?? Cheers
Sean Flood Two leisure batteries Sean but both ran out in only a few days, hence all the rowing, I definitely should take a few more with me
