Going for a serious performance just makes it feel like they don't realize what kind of movie they're making and it makes it even worse
My favorite Morbius lore is how Jared Leto walked around set with his crutches and INSISTED on using the accessible bathroom like the unhinged asshole he is and inconveniencing everyone on set🥰. And also Matt Smith dancing to the song that sounds like “have sexxxx have sexxxx” while shirtless and then morbing.
Ugh I hate Leto's insistence to """method act""" when that's not even what this is 😠 Actual method acting is being as authentic as possible *while actively filming*, not being an inconvenient asshole to everyone on set. Examples of actual method acting would be if a character has an extensive background in skydiving & is very confident with it, to authentically convey that confidence, the actor would go skydiving a bunch. In Morbius's case, method acting would be interviewing adult disabled people about what their life is like, what they feel when similar things happened to them as what happens to Morbius (bullying of the disability, hardships with work, education, & relationships, etc) and learning how someone moves with that type of mobility aid in order to replicate it. Not insisting to use the mobility aids between takes/scenes 😑 and slowing down production because of it
Because Jared Leto is really, really insistent on people knowing how method he is and how "in character" he is at all times. Who cares if he makes the lives of everybody on the movie set infinitely harder? Ugh. Matt Smith dancing to the "have sex" song was a delight. He is truly the only good thing about this film.
Morbius is a prime example of Sony not understanding the source material they’re borrowing from. Adaptations can always do exactly that…ADAPT…but this is so veered from anything good that the character was that it’s just laughable. Not to mention…Morbius is not a leading man character nor has he ever been.
My thoughts exactly, pretty much. Really some short of short, semi-horrory/drama/angst series would have been way more fitting for the type of character Morbius is... which is why the comics are as they are, him angsting while killing murderers and/or werewolves while giving the supporting cast enough time and stakes (literal and figurative). Really for a movie like this, it would have been much better to pair him with Blade, so you can get the guy who actually has the obligatory hero's journey, and they can play off of each other.
Morbius actually has been the main character and had his own comic line, several different times actually, although he still wasn't anything like the movie portrayed
@jbagz1359 yeah but....ehhhh, like it's a lot of preamble by being an minor antagonist and supporting character. The issue is outside capeshit context, Morbius isn't too remarkable a vampire story. Morbius didn't need to be this bad but without a greater marvel universe he's just what you've seen before
How is Morbius not a leading character? they literally showed his comic book where he's the titular character. They just failed to make a coherent movie because they were playing fast and loose with the lore and his power set. Also the movie suffers from the classic "superhero is exactly the same as the villain" Trope

Interesting little fact about morbius: The first movie that was supposed to feature Morbius as a character was one of the first Blade movies (most likely the second one), but since the original director left the franchise and Guillermo del Toro took over for the second movie it was scrapped as an idea. You can find the original deleted ending of the first Blade movie on youtube and I believe the OG director confirmed in a later interview that the blurry 4 pixel tall figure at the end was supposed to be Morbius.

Was he award winning? Of course not. But I thought he was an appealing villain whose motive made sense. He’d spent his entire life inferior and weak and became drunk on the power.
Matt can do more than time travel. He's a treat in any movie. I think it's how he plays off of his accent. It's so over the top and it works so wonderfully.
I feel like this movie was created, because nobody wanted to work with Jared Leto in DC, so he came to Marvel. He want to feed his ego even more, because apparently he had lately not enough movies where he plays himself.
The silliest part of this movie is that Morbius spliced the gene within vampire bats responsible for anti-coagulating properties in their saliva. Not their ability to fly, echolocate, even get nutrients from blood, just the saliva part. Even if we're accepting that the bat genes will give him powers, why would the genes he chose give him any powers? Why not make them radioactive bats or something? Anything to make this make some kind of sense even within the MCU. Either explain it well or dont explain it.

Honestly, considering I have liked Marvel's efforts less and less since prior to Infinity War ending, my opinion on the much maligned Morbius surprised me. I went in expecting to hate it and walked out with only two solid complaints. My first complaint is that the film significantly changes the nature of his power set, making Morbius into an actual blood-drinking vampire. In the books, Morbius is a genetically created mutant, or "Mutate," like Spiderman and Deadpool, and not an actual undead vampire. In the books Morbius is a "living vampire" that feeds through sucking out life energy through holes in his hands. My other, much larger complaint is that they tried to cram waaaay too much into a movie that short, making everything feel extremely rushed, and that was really what I feel was the downfall of the movie.

I have such a weird connection to Morbius and it's so dear to my heart cause it was the thing i joked about the most with my best friend before he passed, so i get weirdly happy when i see Morbius being mentioned anywhere lol 😭
What gets me, is Morbius is a bad ass character! Just look at Midnight Sun's. He is a "living" vamp. None of the weaknesses all of the baddassary.
I really like the effort you put into your ad reads. You and Erik from 'Internet Comment Etiquette' are the best in the game, but you edge him out with the effortless and quality rhymes.
Mildly mad milo murders morbius mate Martine.
Morbius's miserable mate milo murders ms Martine.
And Ms Martine mate morbius murdered milo.... Marvel... Smh...
This is my fav video now. I watch it daily. "Little roar for good measure" and the "I gotta catch a train fuckers, out of my way" absolutely slaughter me every time. And GG getting totally derailed by hang gliding Morbius.
I hate that I noticed this but the part where he bounces the ball against the wall is a call back to the 30 seconds to Mars video for The Kill. He did the exact same thing.
I needed this video to hit my recommended. i miss binging your movie reviews and even rewartching them. Keep up the good work GG! great content.
this video was perfect timing, since i just had a morbius-madame web double feature birthday party
A lot of good actors were wasted on this movie, especially Matt Smith
He gave it his absolute all though 😅
Yeah, at least he seemed like he was having fun with it. “Fuck it! This movie is a steaming pile of dogshit! I’m gonna roll in it like a feral dog!”
Idk why but at first I thought you meant ‘wasted’ as in ‘drunk’ and I was like yeah I’d probably be drunk the whole time if this was the movie I was filming
God, you improved this movie a thousand percent by bantering with the characters.
Thanks for the entertaining content, lol. Best sponser ads on YT
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I'm torn between wanting to watch the video and not wanting to ruin my blissful morby ignorance
Yeah it’s pretty ass man, Morbius and Madame Web brought me back to that Green Lantern, Catwoman, Affleck Daredevil, Elektra era. Kids don’t know how good they have it with the MCU
whats crazy is i actually like catwoman and would sit through its weird ass convolution for the umpteenth then have this film grace my eyeballs once more cause this?...
Excuse yourself Affleck Daredevil was a masterpiece. Not really but the rain scene? Cinematography.
only thing i remember liking about morbious is lika a subtle matt smith 11th doctor joke & i 100% believe they were unintentional
the part where Tyrese looks at the camera and sees Matt smith and goes “that’s not the doctor” was like the only good part of the movie
Oh my god my best friend Martine who has had a near-death experience, I am so glad the nurses who inserted this breathing tube have also been applying a full face of makeup., damm her eyebrows are nicely filled in.
13:18 that Hungry line was said by Ed Nortons Hulk 2008
He said hungry instead of angry bc he wasn’t fluent in Spanish in the scene
3:43 "There's a school for gifted children in need... NO IT'S TOTALLY NOT THE XAVIER SCHOOL, we do not legally have the rights to that school as Sony, umm... come on think of a totally not copy right infrining name of school for gifted children that are different and in need... I've got nothing."
that was objectively one of THE BEST ad songs you've made
I thought Morbius was about a bald man that did magic. Like Patrick Stewart. Had no idea it was Jared Leto as a vampire.
He looks like Heroin Potter.
"Is there going to be a scene where Spider-Man meets Morbius and Madam Web?"
Well, he did meet both of them, not at once, in the 90s cartoon.
Ad jingle a vibe like always. Probably the only content creator ads I don’t skip😂😂
Matt Smith looked like he was having a ball and I enjoyed it
god GG i have been WAITING for you to drop this, i didnt wanna be caught watching this omg
The saddest thing about these is that I've wanted a proper Mr. Sinister movie for ages. It's never gonna happen with these damn things around.
Coming in with the content and the fire bars yet again. Best ads on RUclips.
The "Shut up, sit down, we're not done yet" part actually got me to stay instead of clicking away
0:55 chills every time 😩
The 11th Doctor was the best part of this movie
Matt Smith is british nick cage
Its confirmed super powers originate in south america in the sonyverse
This was amazing to watch. Kudos! Why you aren't at a mil yet. Makes no sense!
Looks like it’s Morbin’ Time, fellas.
Morbius is the greatest movie to ever hit the big screen 😩
Twice
Still liking this new sitdown area anf the amount of content that you just stay releasing. One thing, I have never said but that I appreciate and love so much are your skits and also the costuming that you put into your videos.
Please, release an album with all of your songs for your sponsors. I can jam all day to them.
New to this channel and have absolutely binge watched everything. The commentary is absolute gold! Glad I found this, sure does make the work day go by quick! Excellent content❤
We’d like more watch alongs. The madam web vid was fun. This was a good one too
Close to a Million congrats!
16:47 i didnt know mista ggs name was michael.
Dude I’m over here laughing out loud in the work truck taking my lunch and people walking by looking at me like I’m a maniac. I honestly loved the Morbius movie, but I do have nostalgia for the Spider-Man ‘97 show.
Why are we involving Costa Rica in so many bad movies?
Tax write offs?
an excuse to visit the pretty beaches, i guess
They don't know many countries
This is why I follow this channel for the cutting edge content. Striking while the iron is molten hot.
"Then you actually watch Madame Web, and actually watch Morbius… and you realize why we have war… famine…"
So you're saying if two more come out, we've officially made it to the endtimes?
I mean..Kraven the hunter is coming later.
the tickets to fast 10 joke was actually gold holy shit
IT COULD'VE BEEN SO GOOD
What a fxxxing waste. The story of two disabled friends desperately trying to find a cure? Seeing their reality as they do simple things like try to go for a walk?? Matt Smith still wearing Sketchers because he isn't used to being able-bodied so he only owns low-mobility shoes??? It could've been emotional. FFS. WHY.
I've been trying to watch this video for like, an hour now. I keep rewinding to listen to that sick NordVPN rap.
the thumbnail is really nice!!
Babe, wake up, Mista GG dropped a video about freakin Morbius!
"Guys Better Morbius Memes just dropped". Quality humor. Good job
Lol I haven’t seen the movie but immediately upon seeing Milo as an adult I instantly knew he was gonna be the antagonist
Well, it's a cliche of the superhero genre now that the villain is just the evil version of the hero, with the same powers and abilities... and in this movie, the same disease. Plus, there's no other narrative reason for Milo to be in the movie otherwise.
I love these kinds of videos from you where you commentate while you watch something, they're always so funny :^)
Im asking again for a full length album of sponser songs.
This channel is one of those rare hems where the sponsorship plugs are one of my favorite parts of the video! 💸
...I still don't know how Vulture went to the Morbius timeline...
I like this style of video that's half live reaction, half movie breakdown
Why not use fruit bats and just crave fruit and sugar...
The thumbnail made me think this was a what we do in the shadows video.
Hey @MistaGG idk how the whole “suggesting a topic/ movie” thing goes but I was wondering if you can give a review of all the Crow movies someday? Probably a long shot but 🤷🏽. -ps ur pretty cool🙃
That would be awesome, especially with that wretched-looking remake in the pipeline.
