A Touch of Disney @ DISNEYLAND: What You Need to Know

- EVERYTHING you need to know before visiting A Touch of Disney at Disneyland. After being closed for over a year, Disney California Adventure reopened today! The rides are still closed, no shows, and there's no indoor dining, but there is plenty of food and characters! This $75 ticketed event in Disney California Adventure park opens most snack stands, counter service and table service restaurants around Disney California Adventure including Carthay Circle Restaurant, Sonoma Terrace, and Lamplight Lounge. Even some of the classic Disneyland food items have been brought over including the world-famous DOLE Whip to the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich usually found in New Orleans Square.
There are also six new "Marketplace" booths similar to the food and wine festival:
D-Lish - Dig into some classic Disney Parks dishes like Walt’s Chili from Carnation Café or dip into something new with the Very Very Berry Mickey Waffle.
California Craft Brews - Quench that thirst with craft beer and pair with pepperoni pizza egg rolls.
LA Style - Gobble up some seasonal faves from the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival!
Golden Dreams - Please your palate with well-seasoned eats like sweet & spicy chicken wings from Trader Sam’s.
Uncork California - Discover the Golden State’s wine-making artistry with red and white selections by the glass, as well as a California artisan cheese plate.
Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo - Sink your teeth into hearty favorites like chicken gumbo from Café Orleans and sip on a fruit-forward beverage!

Thanks Josh! I think 4 hours would be plenty if you aren't shooting video. Maybe get there at 2pm to avoid the entry lines.. bail at 6pm to get the twins back home for sleep time :)

The churros looked delicious especially the ones with peanut butter! One advantage of the long walk into and out of the park is that you get to work off all that great food! The price is definitely too expensive compared to the Boysenberry Festival, but at least it is one way for Disneyland to slowly reopen!
I definitely got my exercise on that walk :)

Hey YP! Would love to see a brand new KAUAI video since they are officially joining the rest of Hawaii's "Safe travels" on April 5th! I am hoping to take my parents there for their 50th in August/Sept and hope things are better by then! I know you've talked about Maui reopening and Oahu but are you planning any Kauai trips this summer? With vaccinations speeding up perhaps they'll even change/remove the 72 hour testing policy? *fingers crossed* Aloha! PS. please tell me they still have Star Tours and Indiana Jones adventure my fave 2 rides of all time :)
Hi Michael... yes... it's probably worth a Hawaii update video... I was planning on waiting until they announce the "bypass out of quarantine if you're vaccinated" program they've been working on. Enjoy Kauai! And yes... at Disneyland they still have Star Tours and Indiana Jones :)

Hi Chris, great video! How long was the walk from the parking lot to the entrance?
It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the garage to the park. Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile
Will you go to Six Flags when they open? Really excited to go.
Probably not.. its not quite as close for us as Disneyland and Knotts :)

I'd say once rides reopen in May then jump right in.. I think with 15% capacity to start it will actually be a nice visit with shorter lines than usual. But.. yes... expect some kinks. There were definitely kinks here on opening day

Would you say that this event is worth it? I'll be going for half a day coming from northern California but after finding out that the parks are now reopening soon I feel that I may have wasted my money?
Hi Tony -- really depends how much you miss Disney... Reviews on it are mixed.. some people like it because they just love anything Disney.... many others think there's not much too do in the park. I don't think I'd drive all the way from NorCal just for this. And to your point.. the park will be opening with rides soon. But the real question then is.... wow... I bet tickets will be really hard to get when rides reopen.
@@YellowProductions I do miss Disney a lot however I was fortunate to go to disneyworld last month but nothing beats Disneyland. I'm hoping to get tickets for first week of opening but I know it's going to be extremely hard.
But back to the original question, yeah not sure if it's worth the 7 hr drive to go to Touch of Disney with no rides?

Are the foods different than before shutdown?
Many are indeed different.. or at least served in different places
Really, stepping back, you're buying a ticket to Disney in order to spend money on consumables. No dancing Goofy, no pictures with Goofy; there's a cardboard cutout. IFF you're standing at the right place Donald Duck is waving in the near distance instead of the far distance.
And there are no rides. But you do get the experience of lines.
I don't get it. But it's okay because of the Shamdemic, right? Or orange man? Personally I'd rather stay home than reward Disney for this.
But good and informative and entertaining report, with smart emphasis on what enjoyment is available.

Its so inconvenient to mobile order food. It took us an hour to figure out you have to put in the card again after scanning it into your disneyland app

Disney is so greedy.
Actually I think they're idiotic. Corporations could have prevented the government from destroying the world over essentially a sham, but they shamefully allowed it on the premise of cowardly political correctness. The same for churches, who will be permanently poorer. I don't get it. Disney, airlines, and hotel lobbies could have prevented all of this. But instead they found it easier to permit life shattering devastation, because they could hide behind the cover of "it wasn't our fault."
