Thanks. Feed rates are awesome with this mill but everything else is slow. Check this vid of 4X4Americans's new SUPER LT70 ruclips.net/video/XCAZhGz3c_w/видео.html
Me and my dad had a lt40 dad still has it he does custom cutting for his customers and he is building on to their house I move away when I got married me and my wife are planning on buying our own and building a house later and let me tell you something if you ever worked on or around a sawmill you wanted ever look at trees the same again I look at trees in the aspect of how much lumber can be cut out of it
No doubt about it, that cant had a lot of real stress within its grains, which obviously was released with each 4" cut. My question would be, did the released stress cause the lumber to twist or cup after the final cutting into 4" x 4" 's ?
Excellent video...watched it 3 times... Am looking to get a mill..with you owning it for so long so long was wondering about any issues with cantilever stability or accuracy....
+freespeach1776 The mill is very accurate unles Ive done something stupid to it. Easy to do when I was green. Regardless, compared to a 4 post design, it does give the appearance flimsy, but the lumber is accurate and the mill does not need to be adjusted very often.
@@Igneroid You should add a train air horn to your saw. That way you can announce to the world that the LT70 is getting ready to make some lumber. You have a great saw.
I like the grain in the wood. I know you were on the green chain! operator? and the spectacular ending! (Maybe NOT a VW powered) {awesome weather cover}
Pace Metal Fab and Waterjet Yes it’s a 12 volt air compressor tank. I’ve since ran a line from the house compressor to feed the debarker mechanism and blade tensioner b
Contact www.Woodmizer.com . They are one of the biggest portable mill companies . I have had 8500 board foot days but to sustain that on a weekly/monthly basis, you need support equipment/waste management plan , and sales for all the lumber/the list goes on.
They can get to a monsterous size around here. In the spring when everything is blooming, these trees produce a cotton substance for the wind to carry their seeds. Some places, the ground is white..
Thanks. When the log is still round on the bottom, I have to decide where the most advantageous cut would be. When its flat on the bottom and resting properly on the bunks, the computer selects the cut line...via programming I have done/selected. Returning to the beginning end of the log is something I have to do manually....Its easy once you learn it. Just stand there manipulating buttons/levers....and swatting horse flys :D
Since this video was made, I have removed the axle and made the mill a permanet fixture on a cement pad. Upgrading the hydralics is a good idea and my next endeavor. :D
Here the truth about this kind of milling. You will produce a bunch of sloppy 4x4s with 1/8" or more drift as multiple cuts are floating on the mill bed. Kerf savings and production numbers are BS when there is any tension in the log. Have fun reworking your lumber! Watch the crook and bow as each pass is made, see the daylight, you are screwed.
Its cottonwood. One up from dirt around here. As I mentioned in another reply/enquiry, the 4x4 was used for dunnage. It was placed under heavy machinery parts in a gravel pit. They were not concerned with accuracy as the stuff was just getting beat to death. Cottonwood has more stress in it than most wood but its cheap and thats what the customer wanted,,,Cheap wood.
Something so satisfying watching that machine work. I want one of those.
Yes I'm lucky to be able to do this. Old man playing with old man toys and getting paid to do it..... :D
Oh that’s the way to mill a log! 👍🏼
That’s awesome. That machine is a monster!!
Beautiful set up! I'm jealous!
Damn that was cutting fast I have never seen a mizer cut that fast wow.

What type of air compressor do you have on top, that is a clever idea,
It's a 12 volt unit that is normally used for those loud train airhorns that some use to scare the crap outta people....
@@Igneroid i noticed the compressor. what are you using it for? thanks
@@Igneroid You should add a train air horn to your saw. That way you can announce to the world that the LT70 is getting ready to make some lumber. You have a great saw.
Beauty.
What sort of wood is that?
Second growth Cedar.
I like your setup... I'm always looking for ideas.

Is the blue tank holding a blade coolant? Or is this compressed air receiver?

How much it cost in indian rupees
Good video. Great machine and mill setup.
Cottonwood, not yellow or tulip poplar. ;)

You need to tighten your alternator belt.
Ya. Thanks. Done already. :)

Nice cutting.
Is the operation on automatic?

whats the price for yours?
Any reason you can't modify the hydraulics to be faster...seems a simple thing to do.
Since this video was made, I have removed the axle and made the mill a permanet fixture on a cement pad. Upgrading the hydralics is a good idea and my next endeavor. :D
Should talk with jake dean (custom sawyer) about making your hydraulics faster
cuanto es el costo de lt70
Wish I could afford one
What is the blue tank on the top of the unit?
its a 12 volt air compressor. It is for the debarker in/out mechanism that I modified
Debarker modification
Bagual essa serra, muito Bagual
