Dear Mark. I think you’re great. I’m new to the UK from South Africa. I’ve never used a boiler or central heating in my life. I’m a single mum with a child at school. I was out of my depth coming here and trying to figure out how everything works. You have helped me figure it all out as you are clear and concise and know how to speak to people like me who don’t have a scooby. Thank you!!!

I cannot thank you enough Mark for doing this video. My Housing Association have just fitted a Vaillant boiler and one of these thermostats. Previously I had another control panel for the boiler on the kitchen wall next to the old boiler and a room thermostat in the hall on the wall. So as you can imagine when this was all installed (with no time spent explaining to me how it works) I was left a bit confused and it has been installed in the flat for nearly two months now and only now have I sat down and googled to find someone to explain to me how to operate it. But it isn't just the fact that you have put the video up it is the fact that unlike 80% of other people putting up videos on "how to" , you are actually very good at explaining it and do so from the very start of the process all the way through clearly and without unnecessary waffle. Thank you so much I would have been completely lost without your help. Mike

This is a much needed video. Just had a new boiler installed with this programmer and the plumber as nice as he was was in a bit of hurry to go and couldn't spend too much time at the end of his day showing me how it all worked. Thank you sir, it's people like you who make this world a better place!

Thiis video is miles ahead of the very very basic guide included in the box. One day after having the Honeywell stat fitted to rerplace the Worcester stat the boiled started up but the programming to switch it off at circa 1030 pm didn't. work and the boiled worked thru the night. It took me a lot of time trying to follow the Honeywell leaflet guidance but is is almost useless. Mark set me on track and I am almost up to speed. very grateful it helping me the this very cold
snap which the Honeywell guide leaflet abandoned me to. Thanks Mark.

Hi Mark. You are a lifesaver. I am looking after an elderly neighbour who had a new boiler installed a few months ago and we have been struggling a bit with the thermostat. First it unpaired itself and your excellent video helped us get that sorted. Today we have managed to programme it properly so that the temperature is right for her, the installer never explained it and as you point out the user guide is useless. We have it all sorted now so thank you very much.

Mark, all I can say you are a great help to me and I would imagine to thousands of others who definitely would not be able to use this programer without your help. The instruction manual in the box needs to be put in the bin. Setting this programer is not an easy task and I pity those who are not capable of doing it even after watching your excellent instructional video. Well done.

This video is actually brilliant. Before I watched this video I didn't know that 1. my thermostat needed batteries, 2. that my thermostat was remote and 3. the actual thermostat could actually be removed and used anywhere in my flat, and I didn't have a clue how to program it either.

Very intuitive video for a very unintuitive timer/stat. My elderly parents are unable to program it as its so different to their previous one which was simple to set with an ON time and an OFF time for each day. Thanks for doing this video, it really helped me to set it up for them. But they absolutely hate the Honeywell unit.

Many thanks for this video, Mark. I’ve just had my programmable thermostat upgraded to the T3R. What I found helpful, in switching from the old-fashioned on-off programmer, was to think of P1, P2, P3, and P4 as points on a graph of temperature against time, with the odd numbered periods having a maximum temperature (above which the boiler will cut out), and the even ones having a minimum temperature (below which the boiler will cut in). Once you stop thinking of it as a glorified on-off switch, it makes more sense.

Absolutely brilliant video, a godsend! I moved into a new house today with this thermostat, no idea how to use it and manufacturer website no help with suitable user guides. First video I watched confused me a bit as the guy had the settings 1-7 day and mine was preset to MO-FR and SA-SU , so I couldn’t see the copy option etc.. I am so happy I found your video which explains everything so nicely!
Also when I fiddled with this trying to set the programs then the temperature showed 27’ and I was like this can’t be right I feel cold in this room! Thought it already broke 😄 so I put it to manual and raised the temperature up, but then noticed the display temperature dropped down and I thought now how is this possible then if few minutes ago it supposedly was warmer , now i know that when you hold it it gets warmer and confuses the thermostat 😅 anyways once again thank you for the instructions!!

Hi Mark - just wanted to say I found your video very helpful. As you say, the content of user manual for this product is a bit limited, so you have plugged a real gap. Also, you have managed to describe the whole set up process in a simple and easy to understand way, again unlike the complicated approach taken by the manual. You have really helped and I am very grateful. Best wishes.

Thank you so much for this Mark. I either wasn’t given a manual or can’t find it! Can’t find free one on internet. The one thing I used to be able to do on a previous CH system was keep it off but just override for an hour (maybe more). As I rarely use the system that was incredibly useful. 15:26 never used a pre-programmed schedule. But installer said not possible with this so just checking.
Last night I switched it on to Manual because had visitors - and realised this morning I hadn’t switched it off. Aaargh! Checked meter. Cost me a fortune!
Hoping you may be able to help.

Bought this for my dad, just so he could move the thermostat to whatever room he's in (he doesn't care for the programming and such), but it behaves quite erratically. It's incredibly slow when the temperature drops. Picking it up shoots the temp up by 2-3 degrees almost instantly, but it takes it almost 20 minutes to get back to the room temp. It's also for some reason firing up the boiler for very short times. Sometimes the unit shows the little flame indicating the boiler is up, but the wireless module does not turn the boiler on, or it does, but for like a minute then it turns off but the thermostat is still showing the flame... I don't know if i got a faulty unit but so far it's not performing exactly as it should. It is paired correctly, no error's on this side and it doesn't seem to be disconnecting, i am at loss.
