That is his mindset throughout all of the books; he doesn't mind being the villain as long as he does what he thinks is right, and he does what he does because he thinks that he's the hero and spend all 5 books trying to convince people of that (untrue but perceived) fact, hence "I'll make them hear me'. It's so sad that the character who actually sang this was doing everything from the sweetest point of view ever, it's even more sad to link Varian (from Tangled The Series) with Octavian XD

Great music video it is magnificent. Although I feel the line "They can trust me" is more accurate for Rayna wanting to prove trust worthy to both camps CHB as a result of them being rightfully distrusting of the Romans following Octavian and only 2 of which have met her. And CJ who distrusts her for breaking the old rules and going to the anciet lands. And the line to save my home and family is more appointed to Annabeth who spent much longer at CHB and sees them as more of a family then her blood family for half a over drcade.
