This continental light music is brilliant.......but you wont hear it broadcast by our national broadcasting organisation, the BBC, in fact, you wont hear any LIGHT MUSIC apart from "Friday Night Is Music Night" which has been running for years and has got "whiskers on it".
And yet there was a whole host of British Composers writing light music in the 30s through the early 50s whose music was carried on the BBC at the time. I think one problem is the idiots in charge of most orchestras have decided if it ain't a symphony it ain''t worth playing or the academics who sneer at the composers who follow older forms (a complete flip from the attitude of 19th century conservatories and just as invalid) the composers who might compose light music cannot find a market outside the occasional period movie score.
Wunderschön! Tja, "Wenn auch die Jahre enteilen .... "
Wunderbar, wunderbar!!!
Wunderbar!
Great! Would it be possible to get a lossless audio version of these rare recordings? flac or wav. Thanks in advance!
