Every time I listen to this album I'm blown away by how amazing it is. There's a beautiful, genuine melancholy here. It's not dark and brooding just for the sake of being dark and brooding, which I think is a trap a lot of musicians fall into when making dark ambient. Calling this a hidden gem is an understatement in my opinion.
After listening to the ambient genre for so many years, to this day the album haunts me. Like a spectre that petrifies the mind and soul, whoever created this ( Thorn Hoedh ) must have been in deep suffering. The end is close to any of us listening to this, the mortality being only a temporary affair. In the end you will sleep eternally with these drones putting you to sleep six feet under.
I can't believe I've only discovered this now! I've been a fan of The Caretaker's "A Stairway to the Stars" album for a while and have been looking for something like it, and this is absolutely perfect.
Like the first light of twilight, this music opens your eyes to old promises and to all the anomalies of nature. Evocative of powers beyond observation, these pieces pull the strings of the heart, attract nostalgia and awaken regrets, flayed lives and the torpor of tormented watchers 🌺🕊️
If you guys enjoyed this and want something with the same unique phenomenal atmosphere, try Ben Frost's Steel Wound. (Although it's much more sinister and malicious, though it reaches insane levels of beauty too.)

this albums means so much to me.
One of my favorite albums of all time. I found a lot of comfort and pain in it when I listened to it in the past.
Stars Of The Lid are one of my favorites, and from the sound of it, they must have felt that way about this record as well.

Sublime album!! A real masterpiece!!!
speaks to my long forgotten soul...
Hoedh is the most mysterious artist ever.
Might want to look into Jandek or Bull of Heaven, then.
@@dustmemories9937 That is some New Age crap, compared to Hoedh. Anything that even comes close to Hoedh is The Caretaker.
Hey man, check some of my stuff as Zguba - Hoedh is one of my biggest inspirations.
@@Khaburzania Staruha Mha - Fires. Listen to it. The strangest and deepest piece of music I've ever heard.

And TOWERS - TOWERS
Try "Drama Studies" by T. Morimoto too, not quite as profound as this album but definitely inspired by it.
It's like a funeral procession.
@Adhiza Septian, thx for uploading this album, but why at 240p? I believe the highest quality audio YT provides kicks in at 480p.
evolutionary transgression I don't know whats wrong with youtube. If not mistaken, I did upload this video at 480p.
