This is proof-positive of just how diverse the original first wave L.A. punk scene was. The Screamers looked and sounded nothing like the Weirdos, who in turn were completely different from the Germs, who were nothing like the Controllers, who had little in common with Black Randy & the Metrosquad, who were nothing like X..... and on and on and on. Later on, after suburban hardcore bands took over the scene, it got really codified and one-dimensional. I like a lot of those bands, like Circle Jerks, TSOL, Wasted Youth, Black Flag, Adolescents, Legal Weapon, and China White... but the originality and uniqueness of the first-gen bands got lost on hardcore.
I saw the Screamers perform this song at Hurrahs in NY. I think this footage could've been shot there. They were amazing live. Tomata was really intense and playful!
Apparently, according to the text on other videos corresponding to the sequence of this footage, it's supposed to be the Whiskey A Go Go on the sunset strip in LA in 79. I don't deny it could be Hurrah, just something I noticed, tho it'd be great to see any footage be put out. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing the infamous 81 whiskey show. It must have been amazing to have seen The Screamers play, glad to run into this comment. Stay blessed , have a good 1.
It is not Hellin or Trixie. I can't believe folks don't know who that is... Not fair. No judgement on any commenters, It's just not fair. Credit where credit is due. Cannot say right now... Maybe, but only with permission. Waiting... maybe she will let me.

You forgot. Minor Threat, Negative Trend, Bad Brian's, Suicidal Tendencies, and Dead kennedys.
@@dylanvalesco1538 No I didn't. I just didn't mention them because aside from ST, none of those bands are from L.A. Context.
@@Brewzerr whatever.
@@dylanvalesco1538 "whatever"? Ok. Did you even understand the original comment, or were you just trying to "out-punk" me by dropping band names?
@@Brewzerr something tells me you have a little anger problem, either that or your just an asshole. Out punk? What are you twelve?
