Rest - original

This is from a few weeks ago . Out of my comfort zone to be sharing (esp since it’s pretty vulnerable/emotionally heavy) but i haven’t had the time to record covers lately and idk , I’ve been nervous to share my original stuff with more than like 1 person and I want to get over that .
Btw Ik my voice is hard to hear
Time suspended
An endless dream ended
& now there’s nothing left
A tunnel through
The cluttered room
& I swore I saw the rise & fall of your chest
Sometimes your eyes just need to rest
A century between us
A million years
Do you still remember her face?
A kiss on the cheek
Unfathomable grief
If all of the pictures were thrown away
How long until your features fade?
Sometimes I think I need to rest my brain
Your life with me in it
I felt far from it
But really it was just right here
& I remember
The burning embers
& you said we’ll build a new house
& brought out a vase for all our tears
Sometimes you can’t just reappear
