Echt klasse - Danke Dir.
Also noticed they assembled the front end although everyone seems to think it almost impossible to get the fenders properly aligned if you separate the bond joint
Yes this is very possible. But nobody or only a few on this clip will be still alive.. especially with no breathing mask and all this other safety stuff..
I can only imagine how it was like back in the day.. i think it was hard work and the shifts were longer than today but it was more manual work and it wasnt on this level of perfection than today. You could smoke in the line and some were drinking their beer. The workers were not getting that old and a lot of them died from diseases they got from the chemicals after they got retired. But yes you are right it would be great if someone could tell the details.
@@V8Lounge The only video i found was this guy that worked quality control and ended up buying a 65 convert. I did find he also had a book on amazon . ruclips.net/video/bzoP0gEBXks/видео.html
Ahhh, the old days...shooting paint without a respirator...every day...without a...(cough--cough...excuse me)...now, where was I? Oh yes...Ahhh, the old days...
If you consider to have 250 working days in one year and you work in two shifts per day, that means the line is running 16 hours a day, then you have 4000 hours per year. The Total amount of produced C2 varies from 21000 to 29000. So I would guess there were 6 cars produced per hour aproximately. Some years 5 and some years 7 per hour.
My favorite Corvette, 1963! I'm retired @ Chrysler, Fenton,Mo. Plant #1 South
Thats great. Greetings from germany!

Good ol‘ Times… 👍🏼😎
Jaaaa
I’m most intrigued that the factory body lift was at the wheel well. Nothing like the recommended lift points I see in forums
Oh yes thats interesting.

Very intersting how the cars were produced at this time.
Yes it is..
OMG my 1964 Vette is number 665 off the line October of 63. One or more of these guys could of put her together.

would be great if someone could interview some of these workers and ask them what it was like working on these fiberglass classics

@@carguy0000 very interesting 👍
Notice all the workers are not covered in tattoos. America at its best.
Amazing, no mask while painting. That's the only one place where my 64 and 73 were made.
Yes. It was a little bit different than today. :)
Once upon a time..

It's a down draft booth nimrod
@@frankkline8089 Yes, I know, I used to custom paint motorcycles in a paint booth.
Great video but should have paused longer on each pic, thank you!
Anyone know what the production was per hour of these c2s

Wo habt ihr denn all die prima Bilder her? Gibt es da einen Bildband oder so?
Hallo. Ja es gibt einen mit dem Namen 'the factory of dreams'

Is that car had a red interior, it could have been my mother's first car after she was married.
Vor allem die Lackierer ohne jeden Atemschutz...
Ja das gibts heute tatsächlich nirgendwo mehr..
Talk about unfinished 😊
