Demonstration of using Google DOCS text features to create an outline. Go beyond "Normal Text" to create a hyperlinked outline of your document according to your specificiations.
Thanks you are a lifesaver. I have about 10 titles in the outline. But then after not using Google doc for a year I completely forgot how to add the title to outline. Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks a lot for the excellent tutorial. Do you know how to make the outline show more characters...looking at your example you have the same issue as i do, for example in yours the text "The Process of Writing instru..." is not fully readable. Is there a way to make the outline show the entire text ( i have some long headers in my doc's and they are always clipped short). Thanks
Google was automatically creating headings in the outline for me, but missing some of what I wanted to show up there. Your video showed me exactly how to fix it, thank you!
Any advice on how to add text to a Google Doc that already has lines? As in making it appear that text is typed on the existing line but keeping the line stationary? My line keeps moving and I'm not sure what I'm missing and can't find a tutorial that addresses that.
How do I add something that is underlined like a subtitle and add it to the outline section, I think that I've done this before a little bit but I don't remember how if I did do it
How the hell do you do it so it appears as different sections and not all as one? Every time I try to switch to normal text, it changes the heading/title/whatever the hell aswell.
It's weird for me, I am highlighting the selected text I want for the format, however it applies to every word that was not selected for the format (heading) please help
Whenever i do this, it only turns the whole page into the title. Whenever I try to differentiate the title from the rest of the text the title too turns into normal text. Can yall give me some help? I've been struggling with this forever.
darnit. i already written many huge documents without using this feature and going back to edit or whatever is quite difficult and discouraging alteast going forward me using this would make everything less daunting
So I found the solution, since nobody else bothered to answer you. What I did to stop entire paragraphs from turning into titles was separating what I wanted to title from everything else by clicking "Enter" above and below what I wanted to highlight. Do not click Ctrl+Enter to create new lines for a title, JUST ENTER Example: Text CTRL+ENTER Line Title CTRL+ENTER Line Text When you title the "Title" line, all the text above and underneath it will become a title too However, if you do this Text ENTER line Title ENTER line Text When you title the Title line this time, only the title line will become an outline It's a bit hard to explain here so if you don't get it, I can try recording a short video for my channel to demonstrate But basically, just use the Enter key to make a new line to stop entire paragraphs from becoming an outline

I don't know why mine isn't working. When I highlight a sentence to turn it into a title, it automatically turns a whole paragraph into a title.
yeah that's what is happening to me and idk why
