So I have this washer. You can bypass the lid lock by removing the little tab on the lid with a screwdriver and putting it in the slot where it locks. The lid won’t sit even anymore but who cares. I use mine with stain boost on for every load, it adds more time to the agitation cycle. Finally, I do every load in the deep wash cycle or bedding cycle. It won’t use enough water otherwise.
The Fabric softener selector toggles the machine between using a full deep water rinse instead of a water saving spray rinse. The machine will rinse better if you keep the fabric softener dial on, even if you aren't using softener. The stain boost dial generally just adds a few extra minutes to the wash cycle.
@@thepersianpapi You should just be able to pour it into the rinse water once it’s filled, that way it doesn’t gunk up the bleach dispenser or stain the clothes Personally I wouldn’t use fabric softener. It leaves residue on most types of fabric, it ruins your machine over time, and is also pretty bad for your skin. Just my two cents. Hope this helped!
you have to use a "downey ball" a separate plastic ball that you put the fabric softener in. then put it in with wash and it rattles around apparently dispensing the softnere.....
I have this washer and it won't go pass sensing the load and the lid lock light just blinks won't unlock unless I unplug it. Was told it was then it wasn't the part that allows the water to flow from the pipes to the washer(forgot what the part was called.😢😢. Last time I had to have it fixed it was the memory board. Again not sure if that's the correct name of the part but it was found under the washer...somebody please help if you can.
I got one given to me for free and it is fine. May not have all the bells and whistles of some other models but it has been a decent machine for the purposes I need it for thus far. Everyone 's taste and needs are different, but after reading some of the comments here, I honestly wonder if some of you are using the machine properly and taking good care of it?
The problem is we do not have instructions on where/when to add detergent and softener. So, you were given yours and that person probably told you how to use it. So, you don't realize how difficult it is to figure out something with no instructions whatsoever! I just moved into a rental with this cheap piece of cramp and so long. I need to know when to add the detergent please, somebody, anybody!
It is if you are used to more advanced technology. Fortunately, I found the manual that very day. I found out I can't really use liquid softener, I have to use those sheets which I have not used for years because they never seem to get the job done or ball( I forgot the technical name for it)that one has to painstakingly load with softener every time I do laundry. Talk about moving back in time!
You can actually purchase self cleaning washing machine cleaner packs that have instructions for how to use in basically any washing machine. In between loads, you can also use vinegar based cleaning spray with a microfiber cloth and clean basin and other areas of machine. You don't need to take anything apart to do this.
Nice, Welling motor! Shame that's the only thing I like about these. Fun fact, setting a high spin in service mode causes the machine to spin faster than it would when operating normally. (Normal spin speed is 670, in service they will go to 800)

I've had one for a couple years now. No issues.
We have this model. I never understood the fabric softener button or stain boost. I just add it manually or put in a dryer sheet when they dry.
I have it too. I keep the stain boost turned on for every load. It adds a few extra minutes to the agitation cycle

@@DylBuilder1 how do you add fabric softener? Just pour it over your clothes or add into the bleach section?

Was looking for a fix-it video 😢
I'm trying to figure out were to put the fabric softener!
Did you find out how?

How do you know when to add fabric softner
You add it on the rinse cycle.
My son bought a slightly used 500 series. 4 months later it's leaking. Likely shaft seals. Too expensive to fix.

@ChooseAfrica You can look it up online and through posts on RUclips. Adding detergent and fabric softener to laundry is not ticket science.

Mine just stopped spinning.😵💫
My dad’s Crosley always shakes a bit in the spin cycle and it sounds like a jet engine. I mean he loads it all the way to the top.
I want to know how to clean the tub how to take it apart and clean the tub does anybody know how to do that

Do I start the water first let it fill up then put my clothes In or the other way around
It locks up! You can’t do that and the detergent can’t be premixed either! Terrible!
Dude how do I contact you for help?
You never opened the washer lid
I’d tried too, but the latch wasn’t all the way pushed
A Sears classic!

How do I reset it?
Good for Scrap metal only
I can say after 6 years maybe a little more. Its starting to give problems...
Don’t buy it.
Totally agree
They Don't Even Make That Machine Anymore :/
@@AlyssaTheWasherLover1219i have that one exactly and it has lasted 9 years
Oh come on this washer isn’t _THAT_ bad
It takes so long
Where do you put the fabric softener?
Good question, but I don’t think they have dispenser drawer. if they have an agitator model, they would have the softener dispenser
That’s weird, it has a fabric softener control knob.

It’s in the video after I open the lid
