In all honesty I have a hard time enjoying Vegas , I just don’t get it really but it’s growing on me . I prefer the old relics of Fremont section more than the strip . Check out RUclips/Dani702 for lots of great history on Las Vegas

Because Adam, you grew up in the church with Christian parents, it is hard to feel at ease there. For some reason you seem to feel more at ease in the Bible belt. It is no coincidence that besides So Cal, you spend more time in those states. God loves you Adam.

I was proposed to at the volcano on an annual trip my ex-husband and I used to take for vacation and the volcano is very special and very near and dear to my heart. I am so sad about the Hard Rock and I find the whole sale disgusting. The Mirage is one of the very best resorts on the strip and I am devastated to see it go. Here's an excerpt about the history
The Mirage was the first "megaresort" ever to appear in Las Vegas, and on its opening day in November 1989 it was the most expensive resort ever built. From day one The Volcano has been delighting The Mirage's visitors to what is an increasingly rare and totally awesome free Vegas attraction and highly emotional experience. Moreover, it's located on the most visible piece of land on the Las Vegas Strip. Frankly, it should be a historic landmark!

I agree with you 100%. I am not a fan of change and unfortunately Vegas is always changing. Since the Hard Rock couldn't survive at their old location (now the Virgin Hotel) why are they messing with the Mirage. Love the volcano and the lake front with the birds and ducks and always found the interior of the Mirage with all the plant life and water features near the main lobby, a very relaxing hotel. Plus and this is a big plus, they filmed National Lampoons Vegas Vacation there. It should be a historic landmark just for that classic movie.

Really enjoyed this one. I live here, been here since 1961 April 1st. I literally saw this town grow up! Good thing you got a picture of Siegfried and Roy statue, it may end up being taken out because the Mirage has been sold to the Hard Rock. They are taking out the volcano in the front and putting up a huge guitar. Very sad really, but that’s the growth in this town. It has been said to be an Adult Disney Land, anything and everything is here. I try and avoid the strip, I worked in the Harrahs Hotel, The Frontier, sadly gone, as a slot floor person. The old Vegas is long gone. So many stories I could tell you about it!! Only remnants are downtown, and they are slowly disappearing. There is a lot more to Vegas than the strip, but it is a big part of it.

The last time I was in Vegas was 2014. We stayed one night at Excalibur and one night at Luxor (I had a free night at each due to a game I was playing at the time). It was the end goal of a road trip that took us down route 66. I even made arrangements with a guy in Vegas to let my son ride in a DeLorean (he's as big of a bttf fan as you are).
My favorite trip was (I think) in 97. I got to stay for 4 days. It was my 3rd trip in a year (I was a travel agent at the time, and got free airfare). I got to go to a magic-type show at Cesaer's Palace, ride the Roller Coaster at NY NY, and see Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo. My least favorite trip was over new year's '96. I arrived late on nye, but didn't get to make my hotel reservation until the next day. I stayed up all night, and was able to get into my room around 9am. I took a nap, then went sightseeing. I took another nap, then had to be back at the airport to make an 11pm flight back home. Definitely did not have enough time to explore.

To me the main difference between a hotel and a motel is that a hotel is at a destination, in a town or city, and a motel is on the road for the benefit of travellers. Because the motel is for travellers there’s parking outside the rooms. Because the motel is not in the city, land is cheaper so it can be one or two storeys and take up more land space.

Sad to hear the Mirage is going, it's where I stayed the first time I visited Vegas back in 2004, still, Vegas never sits still so change is inevitable.
Vegas really is an amazing place, and the hotels are destinations in their own right, and what I love about Vegas is that if you need a break from all the madness, if only for an afternoon, Red Rock Canyon is just a short drive away and offers a total contrast to the bright Vegas lights.

We got engaged in front of Circus Circus, went and had lunch, bought the rings at a little place along the strip and got married before four, because the rates were about to change. We flew back to California that night. We were married 28 years before he passed away in 2011.

It somehow never occured to me that Adam wasn't very familiar with Vegas. I would expect he would love it dearly in a bunch of ways, at least as it was a few years ago. I used to go every couple years, but missed about the last 15. I was just finally able to revisit this weekend. It's changed an awful lot in those 15 years and not for the better. You might have called me almost a carbon copy of Adam during all those previous trips, though without the videos. I had a perspective that wasn't at all about gambling, partying, sitting by the pool, or eating fancy food. A lot of the fun stuff has gone quite sideways, and the people are a lot harder to be around if you like to explore without so much human distraction. There's so much still there that would take a number of days to experience, and I'm totally excluding the gambling, food, and clubs, which never were my thing. Since Adam is so into Diseneyland, a ton of this stuff should be right up his alley, though it can indeed be overwhelming and take some time to figure out and warm up to. I no longer have as much interest as I used to in the way things are built and how they work, and maybe I've become a bit more organic, but the luster has dwindled, maybe mostly because the obnoxiousness, loudness, and lack of manners and cleanliness was way more evident than in years past. I think going back at a slow time of year would be way more enjoyable for me. Still, the NY, NY coaster is one of the best I've ever been on, and it didn't disappoint this time. Loved the volcano and the Bellagio fountains once again, and Red Rock Canyon just 15 minutes away is a stunning but super easy way to get the awe of nature satisfaction without making it a whole day trip. So much more, but I decided to skip town early due to the frustration of the way people are there now and the loss of some charm. The whole strip isn't as clean as it was, a bit more seedy. I'll be back in a year or two, at a more enjoyable time of year, and revisit the hundred things or so that are fun and unique, and as enjoyable as many of the Disney experiences. The disappearance of the Mirage and the Volcano will be a huge disappointment, and I predict a bit of a resort shooting itself in the foot. Sorta like if Disneyland removed Pirates of the Caribbean to install a big video screen and electronic music beats. Doesn't need to happen, and Vegas has proved a few times already that the eagerness of change can backfire. Adam, go back for more of an extended stay, but first do a bunch of research to understand all that can be enjoyed no matter what your focus may be. I never met anyone who realized the sheer quantity and variety of fun things to see and do, but there is a ton of walking and scheduling needed to get it done. I could easily see you making this a 4-or 5-part vlog without trying very hard.

Yes, The Tropicana had a beautiful water feature back in the 80's. The giant coke bottle elevator used to fizz and smoke when the elevator was in use. I worked at The Venetian Sports Book for 12 years. Now its outsourced by William Hill. The gentleman who sings the National Anthem for Vegas Golden Knights used to be a Gondolier there. I remember that voice filling the entire mall! Not sure of the full story of the robot, but I know its somehow related to the robot at Area 15. I've seen Vegas grow over the last 30 years. It goes through cycles where it claims to be "family friendly" or more of a serious gambler vibe. The last few years it's tried to be both at the same time. If you ask me, an identity crisis. For me its all about the food, shows and some shopping. Gambling in Vegas is a secondary entertainment. @@magiccheeseball Everybody's gotta live somewhere I guess, but the desert is just to hot for me. I've been to Death Valley several times back when my family would go camping somewhere every weekend. I don't think that there is a campground from Santa Barbra to the Mexican border that we have not camped in. Had a lot of fun back then.

I went for the first time in years and it was completely overwhelming. I got some noise canceling earphones and have been back several times. It’s great once you master it. The best stuff is definitely not on the Strip, except there are two what I call “ghost towns in the sky”, that is, abandoned modern hotels. I think they are finally doing something with the long abandoned FountainBlu. Dani covers the Strip more than well enough to satisfy any need to go back there for me and she’s definitely not shilling time-shares.

23:54, that Circa Casino is relatively new and has a cool/wow factor if you missed it. Circa has a three story movie screen with theatre seating for all the sports betting. The great thing about Freemont/Downtown is they have all the old school' nostalgic classic slot machines, and fun ones like The Flintstones, Press Your Luck, Simpsons whereas The Strip has all the same couple dozen...like Buffalo Stampede and multiple lucky Chinese themed machines.

I am so happy for this video! When I had my shop in Santa Ana and my home in Irvine we would go to Vegas every two weeks so the changes weren't as subtle. Now that I show every year at the South Point Casino I'm always on the floor I never get a chance to actually see Vegas. I'm not a gambler but I love to eat and when you panned around on Excalibur to see the buca sign now I know where to eat my dinner my favorite Italian restaurant chain! We did The claim jumper last year it was good food but a hike and a wait. This year's Run for the million is going to be epic I'm super excited I know you're not going to go all the way down to South Point but as popular as Yellowstone is and 1883 and every Taylor Sheridan project he's got going I am so happy to be a vendor of his! I think I'm going to follow this girl 702 and have her be one of our guests we are the music sponsor this year and our booth is 20x40 if that doesn't give anyone a heart attack who exhibits I don't know what will! Thank you for this I really really really needed this uplifting! ❤️ #AdamtheWoo #SouthPointCasino #TheRunForAMillion #TaylorSheridan #Yellowstone #1883

In regards to the little "shop" under the Statue of Liberty, I know the big sign for Magic Mountain right next to the 5, has a "gift shop" under it that was never opened. But by advertising law, you couldn't advertise your business along the freeway (except by paying for a billboard) unless it was a business on the property where the sign was. So that sign used to say "Magic Mountain" in huge letters then "gift shop" in tiny letters under it.

This is a cool video. Never been there but one day. Is the fountain Evil Knievel jump back in the day still around? Broke many bones trying to be like him when I was a kid. Lol. Remember meeting him in Brecksville, Ohio and had a broken leg jumping garbage cans on my dirt bike. He signed my cast. Wish I still had that cast today. Going back to the mid 70's. Lol

Not a big Modern Vegas fan. Went there in the late 80s w/my folx and then returned in the mid 90s for an unfortunate marriage. Both times, the place had changed so much. If I could go there in the 1960s period, I might change my mind, but as for now - it seems like one big amusement park with WAY TOO many people. Thanx for letting me see it today thru your lens. Love your vids, Adam, you get the greatest shots, Looking forward to the next one. Take care.
