Varanasi वाराणसी is often referred to as Kashi काशी & Banaras बनारस (Benaras), ever wondered why is the city of if why is it so? Are Kashi, Varanasi & Banaras really the same or What is the difference between Kashi and Varanasi? for that matter what is the difference between Banaras & Varnasi?
This video tries to answer these questions & in this attempt we look briefly into the city's history, its changing landscape, changes in pre-eminence of various religions & faiths like Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Buddhism & Jainism
Later with the emergence & later fall of the pre-eminence of the most important religious centres of this city over the years you would find lies the answer to the question of What is the difference between Kashi and Varanasi, Banaras or for that matter what is the difference between Banaras & Varanasi.
The changes in the city status as a result of the various Islamic conquests including the Adi Keshav Temple (one of the oldest Temple in the world) in the oldest city of the world, Bindu Madhava Temple & the Kashi Vishwanath Temple वाराणसी काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर is where the answer to the questions of What is the difference between Kashi and Varanasi or what is the difference between Banaras & Varanasi.
So after watching this presentation you would get your answers to the question are Kashi & Varanasi the same or what is the difference between Kashi, Varanasi & Banaras. The city/cities with some of the oldest Vishnu temple in varanasi,kashi & the oldest Shiva Temple in Kashi.

Iska matlab Varun River aur Assi River ke naam se milke Varansi Naam bana hai aur Kashi Naam Adikeshava Mandir ke naam pe lekin Banaras kyu kehte hai yeh nahi bataya
