- A faithful and fruitful prayer life doesn't always come easily. How should we talk to God? What should we pray for? How do we approach a Holy God in our sinful state? Alistair Begg addresses these questions and more in this full-length interview on the subject of his new book, "Pray Big: Learn to Pray Like an Apostle."

Hey! Now I can place a face with Bob Lepine’s voice! Praying daily for both of these men, who have been a great influence in my walk with The Lord.
When I heard him, I just felt this sense of relief to finally know what his face looks like!
Same here, after more than 25 years i see Bob L face.
Lol…. Immediately I recognized Bob’s voice 😂 thank u for this video on prayer ,Alistaire
I was just wondering yesterday what Bob looks like, and today this video came up. I thought I was weird for thinking that.:-)
I used to listen to Bob w/ Dennis Rainey on Family Life Today daily from about 1990 to 2001 or 2002. I knew what he looked like THEN ... But he's a little older now!! Well yeah, so am I, LoL!! He didn't have a beard then, nor very much gray hair! Ummm, yeah, neither did I, hahaha!!! 😝
"For our sake, for their sake, for HIS sake"....pray big! Thanks for your encouragement!
I love both these men of God. They are a daily part of my walk with Christ and I truly appreciate their dedication to the Lord. Father, I pray that You continue to lead both Alistair and Bob into a deeper walk with You. Continue to enlighten them both in Your Holy Word as they daily teach and encourage Your Church. This I ask in the Name of Jesus our Savior and King, Amen.
I think Alistair is one of the few chosen ones from God to teach us! Lord bless him and his ministry so that he can continue on teaching your Divine word amen
ROC 0U81 AMEN
ROC 0U81 Pastor Jim Cymbal Brooklyn Tabernacle and Pastor Carter Conlon Time Square Church are men of prayer and anointed preachers/teachers too.
Amen
I agree with you..I wish I had more ears and more eyes to sort of fill my whole being with his preachings all the time..I am actuallt scared of missing out on any of his discussions ,conversations or preachings..what a blessed man he is, and how blessed we are.
Oh, you Alistair, child of God, He loves you so much, you are looking for Him everywhere but He is right there with you now.
Thank you for reflecting God, magnifying Him to us. Through you, we learn so much more about God, than we could do it by ourselves
So grateful for Pastor Begg's authenticity.
I am a little disappointed in that Alistar states that the New and Old Testaments can be unhinged from each other; that borders on a fallacy and is not true. The Holy Bible is one book; not two separate books. The the words of God; but the WORD of God! Be careful by brother Begg.

@@harlandfriendofgod6108 I think you have misunderstood. Alistair doesn't say that, he is quoting what other people have said, and then disputes it. 😊

I’m so thankful to God for these 2 God fearing men who preach God’s word to everyone as it should be preached. I wish your church was in Florida 😊. Whenever I’m in your city I will definitely visit (in the summer though🤣)..
Pastor Begg is a blessing . Thank you Lord
Reading the book. Never realized how nimble my prayers have been. Thank you Pastor Begg. Your teachings have changed my life.
Great video. Pray the Psalms. Pray thanksgiving! Pray!
This continues to be a blessing to me five years removed from its first airing. I can't believe time has flown as fast as it has but no matter the date one listened or listens it has such wonderful Biblical truth to be learned from it.
Thank you Alistair... It's a joy listening to you..
I think it's so overwhelming with all the information about people all over the world that need help it's easy to get overwhelmed about who specifically needs our prayers. People all over the world persecuted. Wars. Neighbors in our towns who are unsaved. Somehow we have to filter through all this and search out who God wants us to specifically reach out in prayer for. Prayers for myself often lead to prayers for others. So God uses our own interests to guide us to also extend our prayers. Thank you Jesus for that!
Thank you for sharing truth, being so honest about your faith. When I begin my prayer time ( not counting the many times during the day that I call out to God!) I am usually overwhelmed, there are so many that I feel a burden for, our nation, teachers, churches, so many reasons to call on God because I know that it is only God who can change things. I begin and could go on for hours or days, I try to just do the urgent ones…..I think you understand where I’m coming from here, but this interview has given me freedom, trusting God that He knows what I’m asking before I even ask Him. So now I can be free when I pray and just ask Him to be Him, He knows these things I will just pray what Ge puts on my heart and not leave my prayer feeling guilty b/c I didn’t pray for someone etc!! Thank you. And one of my fave books is “the book of Martyr’s, great men and women’s stories!!!
At a Time as this. Isolation & learning to comfort self w/God & prayer ♥️🇺🇸💎🙏🙏🩸📖💎🩸
This pastor oozes humility and knowledge of the scriptures. I love listening to his teachings.

So helpful. Thank you.
Love of God !
Thanks for the education Too many preachers talk about prayer as if GOD is there to fulfill our needs Thanks for the reminder we serve A GREAT GODWe should approach with humility and reverence But also that he LOVES US THROUGH JESUS GOD BLESS U Alister
Much love and gratitude 🙏⭐️❤️
I totally agree with Pastor Begg that there is more in Ephesians 6 about effective prayer. Thanks for the book.
I am hoping that one day I will meet him in person. Great teacher. Thank you brother.
i would truly like to meet him and his wife there life is of others but i can understand easier it is appreciated
I think it's funny that you want to meet another who is just flesh and blood when knowing Christ is above understanding. I realize Christ lives in Him, does He not in you? Enjoy Him.
Meeting people here can be disappointing. Have you ever been to a place like Niagra Falls, and then returned? I hope you understand.
I met him at his church. It was wonderful. Didnt spoil a thing for me.
Praise God 🙏 thank you for your teaching ❤️☺️🙏
Thank you so much for this video
Appreciated, thank you
GOD BLESS YOU AILISTAIR!!
I would have believed and agreed that your devotional time would have aligned with the man who had a thesis on you. I am so thankful for your honesty. God bless you, Alistair.
I have gleaned so much from your preaching, and it's refreshing to hear you're a real person who has ups and downs, ebbs and flows of spiritual devotions. This is such a good interview. Thank you both for it! I do so much believe in the power of prayer. God instituted it and He gives us the great privilege to converse with Him. Only the God, Who IS love, would do that, with us sinners.
You are so right, Sir Alistair. I am sad to say that whenever I can't fall asleep, I always start praying and I fall right asleep.
every. single. time.
I am also now aware of how hard I am attacked after I have prayed for peoples souls. At work I went from good guy to hated after praying for the souls of my coworkers relentlessly. The devil doesn't want to give those people up, I know from this warfare. This is a real war.
We are battle-scarred but we must work for the Kingdom of God. Praying is indeed the first line of battle in this warfare. Alistair Begg is a modern day Charles Spurgeon, and I say that carefully. God bless Truth for Life.
That was happening to me all the time too, until I started praying along side my bed, on my knees before I lie down. This helps a great deal! :)
I feel a warmth when I fall asleep praying. I don’t sense anything wrong with this, but one thing I would suggest is to finish your prayer when you wake up perhaps?! 😊
Enjoy listening to ur sermons....God bless🙏
Wow that was incredibly helpful!
Thank you for your honesty, it is refreshing and inspiring.
This question explanation session of Pray Big seems to cover many challenges I have, and from my own personal experiences about prayer. Thank You Pastor Allistar Begg for your devotion to teaching the Word of God.
Did you know that having great prayers answered is hard for us? We want the credit. I believe that is what stands in the way of our prayers. We need to learn to give God all of the glory. He can share His glory with us, but that is His will, not ours.
@@nccognito2324 God has said that His glory He will not give to another. 😁😁👍
@@judylloyd7901 Have you read Romans 8?
@@judylloyd7901 I pray you are a Christian. Read John 17.
@@judylloyd7901 If you will read Isaiah 42 you will see the context of "My glory I will not give to another." If not, I can help.
This is simply awesome!! :)
Thank you I will listen to this message again to help my prayer life
I like the corporate slante part.
Cheers for the Brother Lawrence reference! That and your own 'patchy' practice were very encouraging. My own more leaky boat - still afloat - is similar. 'Practicing The Presence Of God' was and is huge for me.
Thank you Alistair for being so honest and transparent, this has ministered so much to my life, and yes it's a relationship, I thank God for the ministry and truth of the word of God.I pray for you and your family, and church family ,along with others that when they hear the word preacher their heart would come to know the Saviour,to Gods glory and our good.
Thank you so Pastor Alistair for bringing the Word so wonderfully. This has been so apt for my current situation.
Liked this discussion very much. Was very helpful and intend listening to it again.
Praise the Lord for you
Very helpful. Thank you so much
Pray big.
AND God bless you also BOB L. !!
A relationship with Jesus Christ, different with everyone, but very personal. Every one is unique in that every one has a story.
I'm so glad to hear someone else voice the things I find cringeworthy about corporate prayer!!
I feel the same way as he does about our "shopping list" approach to prayer, and that we seem to pray primarily for people who are sick.
I, also, have mentioned to people the fact that God's Word tells us that He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, so it's a bit of a slap in the face to ask Him to "be with" one of His own. (Don't we believe His own word?)
We become so used to using cliches that I sometimes wonder if we are even thinking about what we are saying. How can that be called prayer?
So very challenging! Beautiful dialogue between the mind of Christ revealed in both lovely men of God! Will try to order the book via bookshop in Bern (CH) 🇨🇭. THANK YOU 🙏
Ordered 6 books. I am looking forward to reading and sharing.
that was lovely. thank you.
I got my book today! Very challenging!
I have used the apostle Paul's prayers to pray for others, even putting their names or mine in them. Psalm6 is a good Psalm for that also❤🙏❤
So thankful to hear this message❣️🙏❣️
Yes, the miracle of a child❤
Amen, knowing and being known by God!!
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy❣️❣️
Our Father knows best, that's beautiful ❤️
This is simply the best book on prayer I’ve read. Any other recommendations?
